  1.                             TERMS & CONDITIONS:

  4.     The following Terms & Conditions are for the purpose of protecting
  5. the rights of each individual sysop's association with HCSNet mail network
  6. and for the purpose of protecting HCSNet members as a whole and SCOTTSDALE
  7. BBS specifically from the actions of any participating system Sysop.
  8.  
  9.         The System Operator, hereafter referred to as Sysop, of each
  10. participating system in HCSNet agrees to the following Terms & Conditions as
  11. a prerequisite to the use of .qwk compatible *REGISTERED* software in
  12. conjunction with other participating systems of HCSNet.
  13.  
  14.         The term participating system is any System or Sysop that agrees to
  15. these Terms & Conditions as indicated by the signature at the end of the
  16. Terms & Conditions.
  17.  
  18.     a.    Each Sysop participates voluntarily in HCSNet.
  19.  
  20.     b.  Each Sysop voluntarily & independently determines which of the
  21.         Forums are included from his or her participating system.
  22.  
  23.     c.    Each Sysop retains the full right and privilege to eliminate or not
  24.         include messages from any other participating system without any
  25.         limitation or justification, or any HCSNet Forum that the individual
  26.         Sysop chooses not to participate in.
  27.  
  28.     d.  Any Sysop that is routinely not including messages from another
  29.         participating system is required to provide notification of such
  30.         action to the HCSNet Admin Forum on SCOTTSDALE BBS.

  32.     e.  Each sysop agrees to download and view the contents of the
  33.         distributed messages from the HCSNet Netmail Admin Forum on a daily
  34.         basis or as soon as possible if any day is missed due to the absence
  35.         of the Sysop.

  37.     f.  Each Sysop agrees to never distribute of make available the contents
  38.         of messages contained in the HCSNet admin Forum of SCOTTSDALE BBS or
  39.         any messages collected from inclusion into the HCSNet admin Forum of
  40.         SCOTTSDALE BBS without approval from the Sysop of SCOTTSDALE BBS and
  41.         notification of any other Sysop of a participating system that is
  42.         directly involved or identified in the message.

  44.     g.  Each system agrees to notify HCSNet, via the HCSNet admin Forum on
  45.         SCOTTSDALE BBS, of any intended distribution of messages provided by
  46.         other participating systems of HCSNet before any distribution takes
  47.         place.  Furthermore, the distribution of messages outside of the
  48.         participating systems of HCSNet is strictly prohibited by the other
  49.         Sysops of HCSNet without permission.  Permission will not normally
  50.         be withheld as it is the express intention of HCSNet to provide as
  51.         wide a base as possible for the HCSNet mail system.
  52.  
  53.     h.  Each Sysop retains full rights and privileges to engage in other
  54.         network mail activities, providing that the messages included in such
  55.         a relationship are not messages from other HCSNet participating
  56.         systems, without prior approval.  If messages are included from other
  57.         participating systems, prior approval must be obtained from the
  58.         systems that are the originators of the messages.

  62.     i.  Each Sysop retains full rights and privileges to withdraw from any
  63.         association with HCSNet providing that notice is provided in writing
  64.         to SCOTTSDALE BBS by means of the Canadian/US postal system or by
  65.         electronic mail on SCOTTSDALE BBS at the specified address for the
  66.         SCOTTSDALE BBS system prior to the withdrawal and stating the
  67.         effective date of such action.

  69.     j.  Each Sysop agrees to eliminate or protect (by making the messages
  70.         private) any messages that are not suitable for viewing by the
  71.         general public, including minors that may have access to other
  72.         participating systems.
  73.  
  74.     k.  Any system desiring to redistribute to others agrees to carry all
  75.         Forums currently offered as part of the HCSNet mail network system.
  76.         Any regional system agrees to enforce this set of policies with all
  77.         systems accessing them.
  78.  
  79.     I, the undersigned, am the System Operator, Sysop, of the specified
  80. Bulletin Board System (BBS), and I agree to abide by ALL of the above listed
  81. Terms and Conditions prior to participation in HCSnet.

  83.     I have read all of the sections of this document and agree to abide by
  84. any of the other requirements stated in the distribution notice, the Policy
  85. for Expulsion of a Participating System from HCSNet, and other provisions
  86. that are subsequently adopted by a majority of the Sysops of Participating
  87. Systems.
  88.  
  89.     Furthermore, I agree to provide expedient notification to SCOTTSDALE BBS
  90. via the HCSNet admin Forum, of any violation(s) of the above Terms and
  91. Conditions for which I become aware or have any direct knowledge.
