  9.     Centipede was founded as a Democratic Network.  Which means,
  10. there really shouldn't be any moderators or rules.  However, moderators
  11. in Centipede are needed to generate messages if a topic echo is dying.
  12. A moderator is considered to be one of the top in their field.  This is
  13. why they have that position, voluntarily, to help out in case a particular
  14. echo is fading in message volume.

  16.    Now, what does this have to do with the so called rules, or guidelines
  17. about message writing, or participation within the net?  And the difference
  18. between Democracy and Monarchy?  Well...  There are no rules or guidelines
  19. in Centipede on anything at all.  What is expected of everyone; however,
  20. is that each person, no matter who, is expected to moderate themselves.
  21. If someone strays from the echo's topic, no one from administration shall
  22. step in and give the person a warning or the boot.  If the other users
  23. find this person to be of an annoyance, those users can band together and
  24. deal with the suspect, or as mature adults, they can phase out the
  25. suspect's messages all together, and ignore the person.

  27.     In effect, there are no rules.  Moderate yourself, and if there are any
  28. problems, you can, as an adult, talk it out in the personal echo without
  29. making off-topic messages, or act in such a manner as to aggravate everyone,
  30. and finally be kicked off the net, NOT by me or the moderators, but by the
  31. OTHER users.
