Carrier Droppings Lister V5.0
This program is FREE! If it doesn't work for you remember, most
things are worth what ya pay for 'em. I've tested it on my BBS!
and so far I haven't had any problems with it. It was written
for Wildcat V3.6 but _MAY_ work for earlier versions. I don't
run an earlier version so I don't really know if it does or not.
You should have found the following files included in the CDROP001.ZIP
CDROPCFG.HLP Help file for Carrier Droppings Lister Config Program
CDROPCFG.EXE Carrier Droppings Configuration Program
CDROPLST.EXE Carrier Droppings Processor/Bulletin Generator
FILE_ID.DIZ Description File .
DESC.SDI Description File
If you didn't receive the above files you may have an incomplete
version.
I'm not responsible for anything that happens as a result of your
using this program or any part of this program or for it's usability
or lack of usability. You use this at your own risk. 'nuff said
I hope.
Carrier Droppings is easy to get going. Unzip the files into any
directory you want. You can unzip them into your WC30 directory
or you can make a seperate one for the Carrier Dropping programs.
Run the CDROPCFG.EXE program and enter all information requested.
There is on-line help for each of the fields if you're not sure
what to do but it's really simple. Enter the node that you are
configuring, if you are a single node you still need to enter
node 1. If you're multi node then you need to run the configuratio
program once for each node. Enter you BBS name, your first name,
last name, path to your activity log, path and file name for the
bulletin or hello screen you want to produce. Enter any @ codes
you want for the colors of the bulletin. A small window in the
lower portion of the screen will give you an idea of how the colors
will look when the bulletin is produced. The option that asks if
you want to Add/Overlay Bulletin can serve you a couple of ways.
If you like to keep one big activity log spanning several days,
you can just choose to add to the bulletin/hello screen and a new
bulletin will be created EACH TIME cdroplst is run. If you are
multi node, you can set up node 1 as O to overlay yesterdays
bulletin and set up the remaining nodes as A to produce a display
for each node all in one bulletin then the bulletin will only
be written over when CDROPLST is run for node1, the runs for the
remaining nodes will add to the bulletin. Once you have all the
information the way you want it press F10 to save it and exit.
That's it for configuring this thing.
To run Carrier Droppings, use the following format from a batch
file. Do not include quotes shown below and DO NOT include a "-"
or a "/" before the parameter you're passing to CDROPLST. The
only thing to remember when running CDROPLST is that it's config
file CDROPCFG.nnn must be in same directory as CDRPOLST.
ex. "CDROPLST 001" (remember don't include quotes)
ex. "CDROPLST 001 F" (the "F" is for fast, it eliminates the pauses)
This will run Carrier Droppings for Node 1 and produce
the bulletin for NODE1. To run this for node 2 and
change the 001 to 002 above.
ex. "CDROPLST 002"
If you encounter a problem with the Carrier Droppings program
