  10.        DESQview Patch for version 2.61 dated 12/1/93
  11.  
  12. This patchfile implements fixes to DESQview version 2.61. This patch
  13. will work ONLY on DESQview version 2.61. The dates on the DV.EXE (in
  14. your DV directory) should be 12/1/93. If the date on these files is later
  15. than 12/1/93,  you do not need this patch.
  16.  
  17. This patch should be applied by copying the files which should 
  18. accompany this README (PATCH.EXE, 261to262.RTP, MFT.RTP, 
  19. YESNO.COM and 261up262.BAT) into your DV directory, and then typing
  20.  
  21. 261up262
  22.  
  23. (If you have DESQview files of the same name with another date in your
  24. path, you should type: PATH=DV.)
  25.  
  26. After the patch has been successfully applied, you may delete the
  27. following files (if any still exist) from your DV directory:

  29. 261to262.ZIP
  30. PATCH.EXE
  31. 261to262.RTP
  32. MFT.RTP
  33. YESNO.COM
  34. 261up262.BAT
  35. README.262 (this file)

  37. The following are highlights of the changes that have been made between
  38. DESQview versions 2.61 and 2.62:
  39.  
  40. 1) DESQview now supports multitasking while playing audio CDs.
  41.  
  42. 2) Improvements have been made to mouse support a) such that certain port mice
  43.    are initialized properly without a "Revive Mouse", and b) so the mouse IRQ
  44.    can be detected on some systems using Microsoft Mouse Version 9 drivers.
  45.  
  46. 3) More support has been added for applications that directly manipulate the
  47.    palette registers.
  48.  
  49. 4) Problems with Display-Scripts, Load-Scripts, and Save-Scripts inside of a
  50.    script have been addressed.
