The Talking Checkbook (special clipper edition)
Thanks to the fine programming effort of Jamal Mazrui, we
can provide you with this Clipper version 5.2 edition of the
Talking Checkbook version 6.6!
This special edition of the program uses about 120 thousand
less bytes of memory space and was compiled in the latest version
of Clipper. The only difference we have noticed so far between
this and the older Clipper program we have been using is that the
browse/edit screens where you use your arrow keys are slower in
the new version. We suspect that this has to do with less active
memory being used by the new compiler and hence more time is
needed to load functions. We have ordered the version for
ourselves and fully appreciate Jamal's compiling the program
using speech output routines that he has developed on his own.
Say, Jamal; you are one smart cookie!
Once I get the Clipper 5.2 software in my hot little hands,
then I'll get it running with all those new nifty functions.
Thanks again to Jamal Mazrui for his compiling and speech
function. You'll recognize his name from the "CTS" or "contact
Tracking System" software he has written. The CTS program is
very speech friendly and can be download from the MCB BBS or
other fine bulletin boards.
