  1. Q> I've heard rumors of a TeleMall? Is this true?

  3. A> TeleMall(tm) is in the stages of writing as we type. TeleMall(tm) will allow
  4.    sysops to place online, Other stores with a seperate database for all. 
  5.    Its not a rumor but I can't expand further on it as of this writing.

  7. Q> When running TCONFIG I get the error "Error initializing the message
  8.    base subsystem, Exiting with error 112". How can I fix this?

  10. A> TeleShoppe/Tconfig are looking for a place to swap to disk if not
  11.    enough EMS memory exists. In your autoexec.bat file you should have
  12.    the TEMP enviornment variable set to:

  14.    SET TEMP=C:\TEMP   <or a valid drive and directory>

  16.    Next make sure the directory exists!

  18. Q> You have a great product but how can I obtain a merchants account
  19.    so that I can support credit cards.

  21. A> Glad you asked. TeleFlora Credit Line has been our processor for a
  22.    long time. We are proud to support them and in the TeleShoppe(tm)
  23.    package you will find a file called CREDIT.APP Read this file,
  24.    send in the application (or call and let them know that COMPUTER
  25.    PROFILES sent you) and start the approval process. Its a great chance
  26.    and its not hard at all to do...do it today...or Call Tim (Info in doc)
  27.    and change your current processor to TeleFlora Credit Line!

  29. Q> I get garbage when running the sample.db file through as a
  30.    db. Can I stop this?

  32. A> This was caused by the sample.db file from version 1.0 of
  33.    TeleShoppe(tm). It has now been replaced with a new sample
  34.    database.

  36. Q> What are all these √ on my screen when I list out the database
  37.    in TeleShoppe(tm)?

  39. A> The (√)'s that you see indicate that items does have a extended
  40.    description available. Entries without the CheckMark do not have
  41.    an entry.

  43. Q> When I try to run my system with the OPENING SCREEN filename it
  44.    says FILE NOT FOUND.

  46. A> Go into TConfig and under ITEM #1, Make sure there are NO spaces
  47.    after the filename and then press F10 to save it. This should 
  48.    remove any problems.

  50. Q> When I import a text file, there is always one more record inserted
  51.    than what was in the orginal text file. Why is this happening?

  53. A> When TConfig reads in your text file it thinks that there is another
  54.    line since there most likely is a carriage return at the end of your
  55.    file. Remove this last carriage return and your extra item will be
  56.    not be added.

  58. Q> When a user purchased his products he was not charged sales tax, 
  59.    why not?

  61. A> There could be a couple of reasons for this.  
  62.  
  63.    1) You have NO in your TAX STATE in Tconfig, (This means charge none)
  64.    2) The two states did not match. If I have GA in my Tconfig file and
  65.       the user enters Georgia then the two will not match, ie. GE and GA
  66.       so no tax would be charged. (This field is greater than 2 since 
  67.       other countries do not have 2 letter state codes.)

  69.    Solution: We have add (2 Letter Code) to the Prompt to attempt and
  70.    force users to use a 2 letter code.
