  10.     1. Updated/Tested VTEC56BN for SCAN/CLEAN 9.21v111  Note that The Virus
  11.        Terminus checks for 450Kb contiguous free conventional RAM at startup.
  12.  
  13.     2. MAKE EMERGENCY DISK module updated for VTEC56BN. The file RECOVLST.VT
  14.        is now also copied to the recovery disk.(read below) Previously this
  15.        module required that all program executables be located in the
  16.        Terminus home directory. Different locations for scan.exe, clean.exe,
  17.        validate.com and virlist.txt are now allowed. (read VT56BDOC.TXT)

  19.     3. Changed method of immunization. The Virus Terminus v5.6BN uses the
  20.        Viruscan(tm) /AF, /CF, /RF switch options to add, check and/or
  21.        remove validation/recovery information. A file named RECOVLST.VT
  22.        now holds the recovery information. Refer to the file VT56BDOC.TXT
  23.        for new instructions on immunization and recovery.

  25.        NOTE: Users who have previously applied The Virus Terminus to immmunize
  26.              their files should perform a complete new immunization execution.

  28.     4. Revised pathname manual entry and wildcard file selection procedures.

  30.     5. IMMUNIZE/DETECT/RECOVER submenu: "User Confirm" dialog box now appears
  31.        prior to scanning which requests user to confirm adding an optional
  32.        /CERTIFY command line parameter.(report files/area not immunized)
  33.  
  34.     6. Modified the The Virus Terminus SCAN/CLEAN option selection table
  35.        which appears in the SCAN/CLEAN LOGICAL DRIVE, SCAN/CLEAN DIR/FILES,
  36.        and NETWORK GROUP SERVICE submenus. Submenu #1 now contains a new
  37.        option:  < J > ROOT DIR. + BOOT AREA ONLY: {ON/OFF}

  39.        Submenu #2 now contains the following option with reassigned definition:
  40.        < J > SELECT FILES: {ON/OFF} User is able to select individual or groups
  41.        of files when this option is ON. The user will select an entire
  42.        subdirectory (or use wildcard filter if appropriate) when it is OFF.
  43.        /SUB will not be sent as in v5.2AN

  45.        The /M memory option is now available as a separate user option:

  50.      NOTE: Selection #D sends SCAN/CLEAN the /M option which instructs SCAN/
  51.            CLEAN to check for ALL KNOWN viruses which may be found in memory.
  52.            Turning option selection #D to ON is not recommended if the user
  53.            also runs or makes use of another anti-viral program package which
  54.            does not remove, cipher, hide or otherwise encrypt its own virus
  55.            search strings in memory. Read the VIRUSCAN(tm) documentation for
  56.            more information concerning the SCAN/CLEAN /M option.

  61.    NOTE: Use The Virus Terminus only in concert with McAfee Associates anti-
  62.          viral products for best results.

  64.     7. Please note that it is recommended that the user should run The
  65.        Virus Terminus from a virus free write-protected floppy until the
  66.        hard disk has been disinfected. Do not forget to disinfect ALL suspect
  67.        floppies or re-infection may occur. Write-protected floppy operation
  68.        is also recommended under other circumstances (when checking an unknown
  69.        system, etc.) Read the documentation file VT56BDOC.TXT and the
  70.        VIRUSCAN(tm) documentation now!
