TITLE : Performing Calculations Based on Lookup Tables
Intended Audience:
All Paradox for DOS users.
Prerequisites:
Familiar with the Paradox Report Generator.
Familiar with how to design multi-table reports.
Purpose of the TI:
This document illustrates how to create a calculation based on a
lookup table that is not in the working directory.
To create a calculated field that references a lookup table field
residing in a directory other than the working directory, do not
reference the directory path of the lookup table in the
calculated field (if you do, you will receive a syntax error).
Instead, when you create the link in the Report Generator by
choosing Field | Lookup | Link, specify the directory path and
table name for the lookup table. From then on, you reference a
field from that lookup table by typing the following:
[TBLNAME->FLDNAME]
where TBLNAME is the name of the lookup table and FLDNAME is the
name of the field from the lookup table.
