Readme file for HC6
These programs were created to aid students and professionals in the
field of stormwater management. They were created by Ron Eaglin and
M. P. Wanielista. They are distributed via shareware. Proceeds from
registration of the programs goes into the creation of more programs
and into the printing of the documentation for the programs.
The creators of these programs assume no responsibility for the use or
misuse of the programs.
There is one program contained on this disk. The install will create
an SWATER directory and create one subdirectory under this main
directory. The programs included are the following:
HC6 - Hardy Cross Pipe Analysis
Allows interactive entry and solution of water distribution systems
using the Hardy Cross method. This program is specifically designed
to assist engineeering professors in teaching the Hardy Cross method. It
has been used successfully in Hydraulic Engineering classes at the
University of Central Florida for 3 years. Revisions 1 through 5 (HC1 to
HC5) were used at the university for almost 10 years prior to HC6.
Advantages of this program include:
Extensive error checking of the design
On-Line help with examples
Spreadsheet style design and calculate routines
Graphical output of loops or the entire hydraulic network
Separate headloss calculation routines for pipe stubs.
Extensive documentation is available for all programs including
a discussion of the theory and a number of example problems for each
of the routines contained in the programs.
