  1. Disk No: 1689
  2. Disk Title: Space Shuttle Tracking System
  3. PC-SIG Version: S1
  4.
  5. Program Title: Space Shuttle Tracking System
  6. Author Version: 2.6
  7. Author Registration: $10.00
  8. Special Requirements: CGA or EGA (will work with HGCIBM color emulator).
  9.
  10. Look to the heavens to find the space shuttle, but first consult your
  11. computer and the SPACE SHUTTLE TRACKING SYSTEM.  You don't have to be an
  12. astronaut to successfully chart the course of the space shuttle and
  13. figure out what time of night it will be visible overhead.  You'll be
  14. shown the flight pattern taken around the world on an impressive looking
  15. map of the globe.  You can plot the shuttle's location for any specified
  16. time into the flight, or watch the shuttle's progress during the real-
  17. time simulation of the flight.  You can also speed up the flight to
  18. watch a simulation of several hours of flight time in just a few
  19. minutes.
  20.
  21. This program is great for all ages.  It doesn't require you to
  22. understand longitude and latitude lines, but merely asks for some basic
  23. flight information which varies with every flight:  direction of the
  24. launch, orbit time or altitude, and inclination.  This information is
  25. readily available through the media prior to the launch.  By looking at
  26. the orbit charted on the map of the world, you can accurately predict
  27. when the shuttle will be overhead in your area.  An excellent tool for
  28. science students or space enthusiasts.
