- I am placing this on Compuserve, because I think it is possibly the
- most interesting packet idea in a while, and a number of people have
- ask for this portion of MPC to be broken out as a single application.
- It is my intention to make a few changes to the talk43 program in the
- near future, as well as more de-bugging. Your comments will be helpful.

- The TALK43.EXE program is a stand-alone packet terminal/answer program.
- ========================================================================
- You may say it a TELEPONE ANSWERING MACHINE for packet radio that
- CARRIES ON A CONVERSATION with the caller.

- Talk43 uses the MPC_CFG.dat file, the MPC_LOAD.dat file and MCPAC.dat
- files which are shared by MPC403 and MPC_LAN. All data items are not
- used, but have been left in for compatibility.
-
- Also at time of connect, the file "talk.log" is sent to the caller.
-
- The talk43.arc file contains all the necessary files and is setup for
-
- Note: A number of ops running MPCxxx have been very creative with
- the mcpac.dat vocabulary...make any changes you like, just watch the
- systax.
-
- QUICK-START:
- Unarc the files in talk43.arc and copy to a floppy disk in drive A:
- If you are using COM1: 9600 baud 8 bit no parity for you tnc, you then
- may log on drive A: and type TALK43 for a description of the proper
- command line and then the command line you choose to run the program.
-
- If your tnc is set at other than the above baud/port setting, make
- a quick edit of the mpc_cfg.dat file to get these settings and your
- callsign correct, and you are ready to go.
