  6.      Lately, I've seen a lot of questions regarding the legality of scanners 
  7. in cars in certain states, so I decided I'd post the following guide to the 
  8. net.  99% of the information below is taken from the
  9.

  12. I commend _Pop._Comm._ for their efforts in organiziLng this data into a 
  13. convenient and easy-to-read form.  I've been looking for a handy source for 
  14. this type of information for a long time, and I *know* I'm not alone!
  15. The other 1% (The part about amateurs being exempted from Minnesota state law
  16. regarding scanners) was added by myself.  If anyone knows whether any of the
  17. following states have some sort of exemption for amateurs, please let me know
  18. via e-mail (jdwhite@iastate.edu) as I'd like to keep this chart up to date:
