  10. This is part 1 of a 4 part posting of railroad radio
  11. frequencies.  Part one includes this introductory posting, 
  12. and an explanation of the various abbreviations used in the 
  13. following list.

  15. This list of frequencies has been culled from a variety of
  16. published sources as well as the actual scanning by myself and
  17. others.  Particular thanks are due to Bryan Hunnell of Costa
  18. Mesa for input into this particular revision.
  19.  
  20. Permission is given to distribute these lists freely by any
  21. means provided no fee is charged.  Please keep my signature
  22. lines intact so users can send me any corrections, additions
  23. or confirmations.
  24.  
  25. Where I have left areas, states or assignments blank, I would
  26. especially like information from readers to complete those
  27. sections.
  28.  
  29. Part II is a list of Railroads I have included in my list with
  30. the abbreviations I have used.  I would like to correct this
  31. list to show the actual RR reporting marks.  If anyone can
  32. supply this information I would be deeply appreciative.
  33.  
  34. Part III is the actual list sorted by Railroad and assignment.
  35.  
  36. Part IV is the list sorted by Frequency.
  37.  
  38. Abbreviations used in the list include;
  39.  
  40.     FAP    The channel number for the freqs in the RR
  41.         Band
  42.     ACT    Activity level, VA=Very Active, A=Active,
  43.         SA=Some Activity, -=No Activity found, H=listed
  44.         for historical reasons. (they may use it
  45.         again)
  46.         If there is an entry in this column, it means
  47.         that either I or another contributor has
  48.         actually scanned for this frequency.  If no
  49.         entry, it usually means I got it from some
  50.         published source. 
  51.     input    Input to a repeater, the repeater freq is
  52.         usually given in the comments.
  53.     rep    Repeater, the input freq is usually given in
  54.         the comments
  55.     PBX    The railroads radio-telephone system.
  56.  
  57. If you listen to ANY of these frequencies, please send mail 
  58. to me so I can update the list.  I obviously can't travel all 
  59. around (as much as I would like) just listing to the radio so 
  60. this list is only as good as the feedback that I get.
  61.  
  62. I would like to expand this list to cover more of the country,
  63. so if you favorite RR isn't listed, send me the numbers and
  64. locals and I'll add it to this.  Please fill in all the blanks
  65. if you can.
  66.  
  67. I would also like to hear comments on the format of my list.
  68. I will attempt to respond to all suggestions, but be patient,
  69. the Navy isn't as interested in trains as I am.
  70.  
  71. This list is being maintained and produced using the Reflex
  72. database.  If you would like a copy of it on disk, send me a 
  73. 5 1/4" floppy with a stamped & addressed return mailer and I
  74. send you a copy of the latest version.
