  1.                    INTRODUCING THE RF SPECIALTIES
  2.                        TECHNICAL PROGRAMS DISK

  5. This is version 1 of a new disk specifically designed for radio broadcast
  6. engineers.  Bundled into one program are many different sub-programs
  7. of general use to the engineer.  These will allow you to:
  8.  
  9.      * Calculate the E.R.P. of an FM station.
  10.      * Display and print the vertical radiation pattern of an FM antenna.
  11.      * Calculate the distance to the null of an FM antenna.
  12.      * Calculate VSWR, or print a VSWR table.
  13.      * Calculate path attenuation and fresnel zone clearance of a 950
  14.        mHz S.T.L.
  15.      * Calculate and print a report of intermodulation products between
  16.        a table of frequencies.
  17.      * Calculate the size of a parcel of land needed to hold a guyed tower
  18.        of given dimensions, and place the tower within the plot.
  19.      * Calculate the distance and bearing between two geographic coordin-
  20.        ates, or calculate the destination coordinates when source
  21.        coordinates and a distance and bearing are known.
  22.      * Perform conversions from English to Metric units
  23.  
  24. In addition, an Electronics Math program is included.  It allows the user
  25. to work with:
  26.  
  27.      *  Ohms Law calculations.
  28.      *  Series/parallel resistor, capacitor or inductor networks.
  29.      *  R/C or R/L time constants.
  30.      *  Series or Parallel L/C circuits, resonant or non-resonant.
  31.      *  Series resistor voltage dividers
  32.      *  Transformer voltage, current and impedance calculations.
  33.      *  Decibel conversions.
  34.      *  Frequency to wavelength conversions, in both English and Metric units.

  36. This program also includes information about the RF Specialties Group and
  37. its six offices around the country.  The RF Specialties Group is placing this
  38. disk into the public domain for the benefit of all broadcast engineers.
  39. Each RF Specialties office stands ready to assist the broadcaster with his
  40. specific system design and equipment purchasing needs.

  44. $20.  This charge covers the cost of copying and mailing the disk, and is not
  45. a charge for use of the software itself.  The disk will then include a
  46. certificate good for $20 off any purchase of $150 or more from the RF
  47. Specialties office that supplied the disk.  The names of people obtaining
  48. disks from RF Specialties will be kept on record and will be notified of
  49. future updates and enhancements that may be made available at a later date.

  62. Minimum Requirements for this program:  An IBM PC, XT or AT or compatible
  63. computer, with a minimum of 256 K of memory and one floppy disk drive, and
  64. MS-DOS 2.1 or a later version.  No special graphics hardware is required,
  65. and all reports are designed to be printed on any standard parallel printer.
  66. While we have not tried other hardware and operating system configurations,
  67. the software should be directly executable on any 8086 or 8088 CPU
  68. machine running CP/M-86, MS-DOS, PC-DOS, TurboDos or Concurrent CP/M.
