  4.     A. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
  5.  
  6.          The network editor is used for creating network topolo-
  7.     gies for subsequent analysis.  When entering from the main
  8.     menu, the user will be asked to supply a file name.  If no
  9.     file is to be retrieved from disk, simply hit RETURN.  This
  10.     will place the user into the editor at line one of the cur-
  11.     rent network in memory.  Any other entry will delete any net-
  12.     work that is currently in memory.  If a file name is given at
  13.     this point, the program will retrieve the file from disk and
  14.     place the user at line one.
  15.          The screen will display the following information con-
  16.     cerning the network:

  18.          LINE NUMBER ........ The line number of the network
  19.                                   currently being displayed.
  20.  
  21.          ELEMENT TYPE ....... The three letter code that de-
  22.                                   scribes the type of element or
  23.                                   command assigned to this line
  24.                                   number.

  26.          ELEMENT NUMBER ..... The number given by the user to
  27.                                   the displayed element.  In the
  28.                                   case of elements, these numbers
  29.                                   are unique.  In the case of in-
  30.                                   terconnections and transforma-
  31.                                   tions, this is the designation
  32.                                   of the result of that operation, 
  33.                                   and does not necessarily have
  34.                                   to be unique.

  36.          PARAMETER #1 ....... Information concerning the ele-
  37.              (or FILE NAME,       ment.  See the section on net-

  43.     B. MENU OPTIONS

  45.          All of the options available to the user are given in the
  46.     menu displayed at the bottom of the screen.  The descriptions
  47.         of the menu options are:

  49.          ADD ELEMENT ........ Enables the user to enter a new
  50.                                   network element at the depicted
  51.                                   line number.  If an element is
