  3. Getting Started
  4. ===============
  5. How to get started depends on the PC configuration you have. There
  6. are two main criteria:
  7.  
  8.     (1)  minimum memory of either 256K or 384K Bytes
  9.     (2)  run using a Twin Floppy system or from a Hard disk
  10.  
  11. If you have a minimum of 384K bytes memory then you have the option
  12. to run PALASM 2 software using a menu interface program. It is
  13. recommended that you use the menu if possible as it will simplify all
  14. program interactions between yourself and the PALASM 2 software.
  15.  
  16. Note:
  17. -----
  18. PALASM 2 programs without menu interface can be used with a minimum
  19. of 256K bytes of memory. For details on how to install and run the programs
  20. to achieve design compilation and simulation please refer to the PALASM 2
  21. user manual.

  24. Twin Floppy System
  25. ==================
  26. Install IBM DOS System on floppy. 
  27.  
  28.     - Load your IBM DOS System diskette in DRIVE B
  29.     - Place PALASM 2 diskette 1 in DRIVE A
  30.     - Enter:  B: <ret>
  31.     - Enter:  SYS A:  <ret>
  32.     - Enter:  COPY COMMAND.COM A:\*.* <ret>

  34. Reboot your Personnal Computer.
  35.      - Enter Simultaneously : <Ctrl> <Alt> <Del>

  37. To start Palasm2.
  38.     - Enter:  PALASM <ret>

  42. Hard Disk Set-Up and Installation
  43. =================================

  45. Install Palasm 2 Software on your hard disk.
  46.  
  47.     - Place Palasm 2 diskette 1 on drive A.
  48.     - Enter: A:PAL2INST <ret>
  49.  
  50. This program will prompt you for :-
  51.     
  52.     1. Logical name of Hard disk Drive for install (eg. default=C).
  53.     2. Palasm 2 Software options for Installation.
  54.  
  55. Follow instructions until program completes.
  56.  
  57. Reboot your Personnal Computer.
  58.      - Enter Simultaneously : <Ctrl> <Alt> <Del>
  59.  
  60. To start Palasm2.
  61.     - Enter:  PALASM <ret>
