  1. NOTES ON IMPEDANCE MATCHER:
  2.  
  3. 1.  All files are necessary for proper operation.
  4.  
  5. 2.  A batch file E.BAT is used to load the proper sequence of files
  6.  
  7. 3.  A printed version of the help screen is useful when starting
  8.     to use this program.
  9.  
  10. 4.  This is an automated version of the "back to back" Smith
  11.     chart commonly used for impedance matching.
  12.  
  13. 5.  GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
  14.  
  15. Enter the  system characteristic impedance, as well as impedance
  16. to be matched, when prompted.
  17.  
  18. The impedance will appear as a yellow circle.  Locii of constant
  19. resistance appear in green, and locii of constant conductance
  20. appear in yellow.
  21.  
  22. Series reactance may be added by choosing the select reactance
  23. function key, F5.  This leaves the command mode where the
  24. variable is chosen, and enters the move mode with reactance
  25. selected as the parameter to be changed.
  26.  
  27. Reactance may be added with either F3, (Coarse 20% steps) or F1,
  28. (Fine 2% steps). Reactance may be subtracted with either F4,
  29. (Coarse 20% steps) or F2, (Fine 2% steps).

  31. To return to the command mode, use F10.
  32.  
  33. In the command mode, the following functions may be chosen:
  34.  
  35. F5     Select reactance
  36.  
  37. F6     Select susceptance
  38.  
  39. F7     Select series transmission line
  40.  
  41. F8     Redo the plot, retaining the original data
  42.  
  43. F9     Redo the plot, prompting for new data
  44.  
  45. Alt F9 Display table of Data you entered.  Data will be in the
  46.        form of X1,B2,X3,A4, ..., assuming you entered X first, B
  47.        second, X third, and a transmission line of impedance Z0
  48.        and length A in degrees.
  49.  
  50. Home   Redisplay the HELP screen
  51.  
  52. Q      Quit and return to DOS.  (the data table will be
  53.        displayed)
