HAMPAC
Version 1.5
I compiled this little program to help me pass my NOVICE and TECHNICIAN tests
and all of the routines were public domain. I have credited all of the
contributors in the HELP window. Press ? key. Shift is unnecessary. This
keystroke will also provide you with many informative tables and codes.
I am in the process of writing all of the question files from the General and
Advanced study books (current) which were provided by NARS members. THANKS!
The newer version will have a different way of reading questions. They will be
contained in a large library called HAMPAC.DAT instead of QUESTx.DAT, etc. This
should make the program run much faster and users will be able to select
questions from all areas of interest. Over 500 questions will be contained in
this data file and written to RAM when the pgm is run.
The bug in the code section will be fixed. (F8)
You can use any text file (up to 24 lines long) as your dummy QSO. Just name it
CODE.TXT as that is what I set the default to. REMEMBER, each line MUST have a
carriage return so when you set up new CODE.TXT files press return at the end
of each line. If your text editor doesn't write ESC(27) it will BOMB.
You can also write your own questions. NOVICE questions are called
QUEST(x).DAT, TECH/GENERAL questions are called QT(x).DAT and EXTRA/ADVANCED
questions are called QST(x).DAT. However, you must also put the correct answer
in the same place. So...you have to write down the correct answer and when you
write your new questions the correct answer must match.
Thanks,
Joe Lincoln KB5DIX
