BPQCODE Version 4.05
Version 4.05 contains more changes than usual, and includes a fundamental
change to the TNC2 application interface. I have had some reports of
problems from beta test users which I have not been able to recreate
here. I dont like releasing software that contains unresolved problems,
but, as it is working OK on a number of sites, I have decided that the
quickest way to resolve the problems is to get feedback from as many
users as possible. So, if you have no problems, then fine. If you do,
please send me as much details as possible, and revert to whatever you
were running before (The previous versions are 4.04e for PC, 4.04h for
Data Engine).
Please read the DRIVERS.DOC file, which describes the new TNC2 application
interface. For most users, all you need to do is to add the line
BPQHTNC2
immediately after BPQCODE in your startup file. This will create the
same set of ports that you had with previous versions.
Possible Problems.
The following problems have been reported, but similar installations
work OK. It is possible that some are related to DOS or DV versions,
or even machine types.
Using BPQHTNC2 inside a Desqview window seems to cause problems. So,
despite what it says in DRIVERS.DOC, I suggest you load it before DV.
Using HDLC cards with SOFTDCD=0 may cause crashes.
YAPP transfers may fail.
Using the first BPQHOST port with the DX Cluster may cause problems.
Changing the DEDHOST line to DEDHOST 31 2 1 ......, and changing
SYSOP.DAT to define only 31 ports, seems to fix it.
