Subject: TM-731A mod correction
The recent posting by VE3EAR was in error with regard to the resistor
to be cut to enable out-of-band receive (and xmit). It should have
named R25 instead of R57. R25 can be found on the bottom side of the
Control Unit circuit card (X53-3250-00 A/3) and is visible and accessible
without removing the card from the front panel. The resistor R125
mentioned is actually a zero-ohm resistor, that is, a jumper.
The cross-band repeater function is enabled by removing R121, as described.
This resistor is zero ohms, and was blue in color without markings.
The modification procedure I have seen says to reset the microprocessor
twice after making these changes.
