  3. If you have a printer which prints the IBM box characters and
  4. recognizes standard IBM/Epson control codes for double width,
  5. boldface, etc., DO THIS:
  6.      COPY CONLOG.IBM PRN:

  8.       PRINT CONLOG.IBM
  9. (Note: Some distributions from bulletin boards may not have this
  10.        file due to space limitations.  Instead, use the file
  11.        CONLOG.DOC.  A purchased distribution disk will have
  12.        both files.)

  15. If you have a printer which DOES NOT print the IBM box characters or
  16. DOES NOT recognizes standard IBM/Epson control codes for double width,
  17. boldface, etc., DO THIS:

  23. !!!!!! BE SURE TO RUN THE INSTCLOG (INSTALLATION) PROGRAM BEFORE
  24.        ANY OTHER PROGRAMS.  INSTCLOG IS REQUIRED TO SETUP THE
  25.        CONFIGURATION FILE WITH YOUR SPECIFIC INFORMATION !!!!!!!!!!
  26. Configuration files for previous versions will NOT work with version
  27. 1.80.  However, do NOT erase your old CONLOG.PRM file, since INSTCLOG
  28. is smart enough to retrieve all old information and make a new file.

  32. 1.  Time is now synchronized much tighter with the DOS system time.
  33.     If your DOS time is incorrect, CONLOG's will be too!
  34.     Using the DOS TIME command and WWV, set your time to the
  35.     exact second.  Then CONLOG will remain accurate within 2 seconds,
  36.     which is more than accurate enough for the contest.

  38. 2.  Several items on the screen were placed incorrectly when returning
  39.     from an exit to DOS or a screen standby.  These have been fixed.
  40.  
  41. 3.  All programs re-compiled with latest version of Turbo-C, and optimized for
  42.     speed of execution.

  44. 4.  Some rare printers didn't like LOGSHEET's means of issuing a linefeed
  45.     only instead of a cr/lf combination.  LOGSHEET now issues both characters
  46.     to cover all types of printers.
  47.  
  48. 5.  User can select 4 modes of error "beeps".
  49.  
  50. 6.  User can select order of data entry fields.
  51.  
  52. 7.  User can select auto-advance out of the check field after 2 digits.
  53.  
  54. 8.  User can select display of short or long section names.  CONLOG
  55.     always accepts either one during data entry.
  56.  
  57. 9.  <space> bar may be used to terminate a data entry just as <enter>
  58.     key does.
  59.  
  60. 10.  When exiting CONLOG, a special file is created which allows CONLOG
  61.      to resume operation the next time it is invoked, and automatically
  62.      restore all data and notepad items.

  64. 11.  Special functions (Alt-FK1) menu can be invoked from normal
  65.      functions (FK1) menu without need to log on to the contest.
  66.  
  67. 12.  There are other corrections and enhancements.  PLEASE READ THE
  68.      INSTRUCTION MANUAL CAREFULLY!!  Most questions can be answered
  69.      by simply reading the instructions!  Thank you!

  72. Regarding phone calls:  Due to time limitations, I do not normally
  73. offer online phone help.  However, that does not stop people from
  74. calling me <grin>.  Please be advised, though, that I will be
  75. working the Phone weekend of the contest, and I definitely will
  76. NOT accept calls relative to any of my programs.  No apologies --
  77. where the sweepstakes is concerned, even my wife knows better than
  78. to disturb me!  Thank you for your cooperation, and I'll see you on

  83. There are more features I'd like to add to CONLOG, but time may
  84. not permit it before the 1989 contest.  However, don't let that
  85. stop you from purchasing CONLOG.  I'll make this offer:
  86. Any registration received prior to October 1, 1989 will receive
  87. any updates to Version 1.80 FREE.  Mind you, I am not saying that
  88. I can have another version in time for this year, but if I do,
  89. you'll have it automatically if you register by 10-1-89.
