  1. TNC 2 Changes needed for ROSE to run in Back-to-Back Mode
  2.  
  3. (Items 1-6 are things that need to be changed for Net/Roms)
  4.  
  5. 1) 32K Ram - Nice, but not needed for a Test Switch (busy switch; Usefull!)
  6. 2) TX Timeout timer - Net/Roms change C31 to 47uf for 60 timer, can't hurt
  7. 3) change clock to 4.9 mhz - Needed for 9.6kb links
  8. 4) DCDB (J1[db25] PIN 23) to JMP9 - Needed for back-to-back cable control lead
  9. 5) TL084 in U3 - Yes
  10. 6) J1 Pin 10 to J1 Pin 23 - NO, Pin 23 is used in cable
  11. 7) J1 Pin 10 to J1 Pin 20 - Back-To-Back Mode, Radio Support if not connected

  14. All connections are to J1 (DB 25)

  16. Back-to-Back Cable needs:
  17. CAPS mean this tnc, lower means all other tnc's

  19. GND PIN  1 - gnd pin 1
  20. GND PIN  7 - gnd pin 7 (Optional)
  21. TXD PIN  2 - rxd pin 3
  22. RXD PIN  3 - txd pin 2

  24. * CTS PIN  5 - sel pin 23 (dcdb on sio) (Avoid collisions on async side, like)
  25. * SEL PIN 23 - cts pin 5 (rtsb on sio)  (hooking PTT to RF DCD between tnc's)

  27. * NOTE: Due to a bug omit this line for Version 033189 or before

  29. DTR PIN 20 - LO PIN 10    (Tell Switch to run with TXD=0 on Async Port)

  31. Radio Port Cable Needs:
  32. CAPS mean TNC, lower means Modem DB25

  34. GND PIN  1 - gnd pin 1
  35. TXD PIN  2 - rxd pin 3
  36. RXD PIN  3 - txd pin 2
  37. CTS PIN  5 - rts pin 4 (to radio keying circuit/ptt)
  38. DSR PIN  6 - dtr pin 20 (depending on modem, may be optional)
  39. GND PIN  7 - gnd pin 7 (Optional)
  40. SEL PIN 23 - dcd pin 8 (Tie Modem DCD to sio dcdb)
  41. Since we use NRZI created by the TNC, the TXClock and TXClock are not needed.
