Anyone:
Can anybody help me find the following?
1) Phil Karn's Internet Address (KA9Q)
2) Anyone that belongs to or who can tell me the phone number
of the people who make the GRAPES modem. Are they on the
Internet?
3) What is the street price for grapes modem and transverter
unit for 220mhz (440mhz)?
4) I already have both an amiga and a xenix 386 box. What kind
of performance can I really expect to get. Are we talking
relatively error-free 56kb transmissions or is my transmitter
receiver going to be coming down all the time. I guess what
I'm trying to say is, "How much is this going to cost me and
once I get it setup is it going to be a nightmare to keep on
the air?"
Any help Appreciated,
Jim Burnes

Hello.
I am looking for address/telephone details for a company who supplies
a LAWN interface unit (local-area wireless network) that connects to
the serial port of a PC.
The name of the company is: O'Neill Communications (Princeton, NJ).
An article in June 1990 Byte on wireless LANs mentioned this company
but gave no further details on their whereabouts.
Thanks for any help.
John (VK3DWT).

I'm not affiliated with O'Neill, I'm just tracking developments in wireless
LANs. This is by no means the only one.
If you're looking for a wireless ethernet-like network, I'm afraid this one
will disappoint you. The information I have indicates the software included
provides support for file transfer and email. No mention is made of file
sharing or a Novell driver.

LAN Times, October 22, '90, pg 23 (NCR WaveLan and others)

I'd like to take this opportunity to solicit leads on other wireless LAN
technologies. I'm interested in all kinds, but especially general purpose
"802.x-like" technologies.
