BAND is a database prepared by Malcom Waugh, Jr., ND5D, a remote
SYSOP of the K5FP cluster. It was submitted for distribution by by
Ken Grabenstein, KE5IV. Review it by viewing the files BAND.CAL and
BAND.FUL. BAND.CAL will be displayed to the user who types SH/BAND
<ENTER>. BAND.FUL is the database itself. Other files furnished are
BAND.NF, BAND.PRE, and BAND.POS. BAND.AOK is furnished to limit
updates (SYSOP should change if desired).
To implement SH/BAND, first load the files into your PACKCLUS\DB directory.
Then, make the index file by executing the MAKEIDX utility as follows:
MAKEIDX BAND.FUL 200 <ENTER>
Next, add the following line to your SYSOP.DAT file:
SET/COMMAND BAND BAND.CAL BAND.FUL/BAND.IDX BAND.PRE BAND.POS BAND.NF
And, if you didn't shut down the node to install the database, type in the
above line as a SYSOP command.
Other nodes may access the database on your node by adding a line to their
SYSOP.DAT and/or typing in the line as a command. If the callsign of the
node where the database is installed is KJ9D, then the other nodes would
execute the following command (in SYSOP.DAT and/or as a direct command):
SET/COMMAND BAND * * * * * KJ9D
Suggestions and comments for KE5IV can be included in the disk mailed monthly
to W6GO/K6HHD.
