VERSION HISTORY
Version 2.00 of the 440 Spoiler (44SPL200.EXE), released 1 July, 1990, is
the second release of the 440 Spoiler. It is preceded only by Version 1.01,
released 28 January 1990.
Major new features are as follows.
1. An alternate high-density display that shows all transceiver operating
parameters, including all 110 memories (90 for unsplit operation plus 20
for split operation) on a single screen.
2. Numeric-keypad control of main tuning and increment tuning, including
tuning of all memories as well as both VFOs. Memories and VFOs altered
during tuning may (optionally) be left in their altered state or restored
to their original state. From keypad tuning, all memories become VFOs.
3. Keypad control of transmitting (a feature which may be disabled on
installation).
4. Advanced scanning capabilities that provide memory scanning, frequency-
range ("programmed") scanning, and any combination of both that you care
to program. You specify the delays for group scanning individually within
up to six groups, and you specify the range-scanning speed for up to six
ranges.
5. Enhanced color graphic display that uses highlighting to dynamically
illuminate current operating parameters. Reverse-video for LCD displays.
6. A new installation program that permits easy configuration of the program
for hardware and operating features.
7. A clear-cut distinction between the program features available in
shareware examination copies and those available in registered copies.
Registered copies include the following enhancements; shareware
examination copies do not.
A. Transmit keying from the keyboard
B. Use of keypad accelerator and decelerator keys during tuning.
C. Between-session saving of edited scan parameters.
D. Opening of memory files not specified during installation.
We hope you enjoy version 2 of the 440 Spoiler. Even the examination copy
without enhanced features is a considerably greater operating convenience (or
necessity) than commercial packages provide. Registered copies, of course,
make the commercial competition work a little harder at the same time that they
help improve the Spoiler moreso beyond any commercial competitive packages.
