  2. TCP/IP Switcher Version 3.3
  3.  
  4. TCPSW is a utility to allow the changing of a Windows 95 DialUp
  5. networking connection's hostname, domain name, and nameserver
  6. values.  This change can be made anytime (even after connecting).  It
  7. is most useful to those who use more than one internet service provider
  8. which requires different settings for the above values.
  9.  
  10. In order to use TCPSW, setup the connection as you would like for the
  11. first connection and then run TCPSW.  You should see the current state
  12. displayed in the windows.  Press the "Save Current" button and specify
  13. a filename to store the information into.  Press the "Quit" button.
  14. Then, change your Windows 95 connection setup for the second connection
  15. and again run TCPSW. You should now see the second connection displayed.
  16. Again press "Save Current" and specify a different filename to save the
  17. information in.  Repeat the above process for as many different
  18. setups as you need.

  20. To restore a setup, invoke TCPSW and press the "Set Parameters" button.
  21. Choose the desired setup from the file navigator.  Your new setup should
  22. now be displayed in the window.

  47. Changes from V3.2 - V3.3:

  49. 1) Will respond to a launch (i.e. double-click) of a ".tcp" file type
  50.    provided that the user sets up an association for files with 
  51.    the ".tcp" extension.  To do this, open the "My Computer" icon and
  52.    choose the View>Options>File Types dialog box.  Click the "New Type"
  53.    button.  Enter the following for the listed fields:

  55.     Description of type:    TCPSW Setup File
  56.     Associated extension:    tcp
  57.     
  58.    Then click the "New" and enter the following into the "New Action"
  59.    dialog:

  61.     Action:    open
  62.  
  63.    Now click the "Browse" button and navigate to the TCPSW.EXE file.
  64.    OK the open dialogs and everything is now set up.  You may now 
  65.    double-click on a ".tcp" file and TCPSW will automatically launch.
  66.    If it is already running, the new setting from the ".tcp" file will
  67.    be loaded.

  69.    (Sorry for all this trouble, a good setup/install program would
  70.     really make this nice.  But hey, those things cost $$$ and out
  71.     of all the kind folks who have EMAILed me asking for enhancements
  72.     I've only the $5 license fee from one person.)

  74. Changes from V3.1 - V3.2:
  75.  
  76. 1) TCP/SW Will only execute one instance of the application.  Now if an
  77.    attempt to run a second copy, the first one will be activated.

  79. 2) Fixed a problem with TCP addresses which were the full 12 digits long.
