  12. The companion CD-ROM contains all the 
  13. source code listings and demo programs 
  14. discussed in this book located in the 
  15. Source subdirectory. Michael Abrash's 
  16. legendary texture-mapped 3-D animation 
  17. library, X-Sharp, in its most 
  18. recent version is also included.

  20. As a bonus, you will also find the text 
  21. to Michael's book Zen Of Assembly Language, 
  22. in the ZenAsmLg subdirectory (Chapter 6 
  23. is unavailable).

  25. To view Chapters A through K located in 
  26. the ChapsA-K subdirectory, install 
  27. Adobe Acrobat 3.0 located in the 
  28. Acrobat subdirectory.

  30. Please be aware that we cannot 
  31. assist you in working less than 
  32. standard compilers and assemblers.  
  33. A86 in particular understands 
  34. non-standard syntax and you will have
  35. to modify the code for assembly under 
  36. A86.  We cannot provide any advice there 
  37. since we do not use A86.

  39. The X-Sharp library exists in several 
  40. implementations of gradually increasing 
  41. sophistication.  Each of these libraries 
  42. is also present as a self-extracting archive.  
  43. There is an UNPAK.BAT in each directory containing 
  44. an X-Sharp archive that will execute the archive 
  45. with that very important -d switch.

  47. The most recent version, X-Sharp 22, is stored 
  48. in the subdirectory Xsharp22.  Use X-Sharp 22 
  49. for all new work; the others are stored in the 
  50. chapter subdirectories where they are discussed, 
  51. and should be used for explanatory purposes 
  52. in conjunction with the chapter text only.
