All 6 types of copies are heavily used depending upon the situation.
However, AltC with AltL blocking is probably the most common.
Unlike the rest of the marked area functions of PC-TYPE+, the copy
command does not remove the blocking after completion of the request.
This allows you to copy again and again until you unmark the marked
area with the AltU command.
We will give an example of each type of copy below. Be sure to follow
the instructions for the examples closely, especially when you are
asked to unmark the previous marked area.
Press the PgDn Key
Standard Paragraph Copy (AltL AltL AltC)
Move the cursor to THIS line and press AltL.
Then move the cursor to THIS line and press AltL again.
Now move the cursor HERE and press AltC. Press AltL again.
Notice that you can change the marking.
Press AltU to unblock and move the cursor to THIS line and press AltL.
Now Press AltC. Copying paragraphs and lines is that simple.
Press AltU to remove the marking.
Press the PgDn Key
Standard Sentence Copy (CtrlL CtrlL AltC)
Move the cursor to the 'T' at the beginning of the next sentence and
press CtrlL. This is the sentence you will be copying to a new
location. Now move the cursor to the '.' at the end of the previous
sentence and press CtrlL again. Finally, move the cursor to the
asterisk below, and press AltC.
(*)
.....
You have just moved a sentence. Press AltU to unmark.
Press the PgDn Key
Column Copy (CtrlB CtrlB AltC)

Now move the cursor to the asterisk and press AltC. Press AltC again.
As you can see the column copied is inserted in the line(s) with the
upper left-hand corner of the box at the cursor. Press AltU.
Move the cursor to the left of the bottom '' and press CtrlB.
Move the cursor up to just left of the top '' and press CtrlB
again. Move the cursor on the top '' and press AltC three or four
times. This is another handy use for this form of copy. Press
AltU to unmark.
Press the PgDn Key
Paragraph Insert (AltL AltL CtrlC)
Move the cursor to THIS line and press AltL.
Then move the cursor to THIS line and press AltL again.
Now move the cursor to the 'x' (x) and press CtrlC.
You have now copied the marked paragraph to the middle of a line which
has been split at the cursor. A simple reformat will close the gaps.
Press CtrlR and then press any key just to see it happen.
Press the PgDn Key
Sentence Insert (CtrlL CtrlL CtrlC)
Move the cursor to the 'M' at the beginning of this line and press
CtrlL. Now move the cursor to the period at the left and press CtrlL
again.
Now move the cursor to the 'x' (x) and press CtrlC.
You have now copied the marked sentence to the middle of a line which
has been split at the cursor. A simple reformat will close the gaps.
Press CtrlR and then press any key just to see it happen.
Press the PgDn Key
Column (or Block) Overlay (CtrlB CtrlB CtrlC)
Move the cursor to the upper left corner of the box below and press
CtrlB. Now move the cursor to the lower right corner of the box below
and press CtrlB again. Now move the cursor to the 'X' inside the box
and press CtrlC. Move the cursor to the new 'X' location and press
CtrlC again.
┌─────────────┐ As you can see, CtrlC with blocked
│ │ marking produces a straightforward
│ X │ overlay result.
