In order to align on a character, you must >1.23456

hold down the Alt key and press 'A'. Using ^
the right arrow key, move the cursor in the field to the right until
it is just above the '^' character. Now press the '.' key and press
Enter.
You requested alignment of the numbers on the decimal point at the
specified location merely by entering the desired character at the
desired location in the field. If the character did not exist in
the field, that line would have been ignored.
Press the PgDn Key ...
If you do not remember that Alt A is the key used for alignment, you
can press F7 (Block Functions), and from the small menu you can press
either F7 again, or AltA.
If there is insufficient room in the > 1.23456
blocked area to shift the string of 12.3456
text to the desired position, PC-TYPE+ 123.456
will shift it as far as it can, and 1234.56
then stop. Mark the area to the 12345.6
right with CtrlB's as you did above. 123456. <

This time press F7 - then F7 again. Now move the cursor over the '^'
character, (it's easiest to press Ctrl right arrow and then back up
inside the field) enter a period again and press Enter. Notice that
the top two numbers are not lined up since there was not enough room
in the block defined. Remember to leave enough room when marking your
blocks.
