  6. Video Poker for Windows (VPOKER) is a shareware game based on
  7. the popular video poker machines found in many casinos.  Some of
  8. the features provided by VPOKER include:
  9.  
  10.     - Both "Jacks or Better" and "Jokers Wild" variations of play
  11.     - Animation and sound effects
  12.     - On-line context-sensitive help
  13.     - Best-play advice for any hand setup by the user
  14.     - Game save/restore
  15.     - User-definable payoff tables
  16.     - Probability table showing how user's choices affect payoff odds
  17.     - Automatic play mode
  18.     - Game history table and graph
  19.

  32. REQUIREMENTS
  33.  
  34. The following is required to use Video Poker for Windows:
  35.     - PC running Microsoft Windows 3.1
  36.     - VGA display in 640x480 resolution or higher.

  39. HOW TO INSTALL OR RUN
  40.  
  41. Copy all the Video Poker files into a directory, for example \VP.
  42.  
  43. If you only want to run Video Poker without installing it into a 
  44. Program Group, start Windows and run Video Poker by using
  45. the Program Manager's File | Run option.  For instance,
  46. if you put the Video Poker files in \VP, you would select the
  47. File | Run option and specify \VP\VPOKER.EXE as the command line.
  48.  
  49. To install Video Poker into a Program Group start Windows and use the
  50. Program Manager's File | New option to add VPOKER.EXE.   For example, 
  51. you might 1) select a Program Group (for example, Games), 2) from the
  52. Program Manager's File | New option select Program Item, 3) specify
  53. VPOKER.EXE as the command line, and 4) specify its directory (for
  54. example, \VP) as the working directory.

  57. ON-LINE HELP
  58.  
  59. There is further documentation and help information available once you
  60. are running Video Poker.  There is both a standard help menu and
  61. context-sensitive help.

  64. SOUNDS
  65.  
  66. If you have the Windows 3.1 PC-speaker sound driver installed (available
  67. for free on many BBS's), the sound effects will play through your PC's
  68. speaker, however, the sound effects sound much better with a sound card.
  69. Be sure to have your sound card's Windows driver installed.

  72. REGISTRATION
  73.  
  74. Video Poker for Windows is not a free program; it is copyrighted and
  75. distributed as Shareware.  You may try the program for up to thirty
  76. days for free, but if you decide to keep it, you must register the
  77. program.  A registration reminder notice is displayed every time you
  78. run the unregistered version of the program.
  79.  
  80. The unregistered version of Video Poker for Windows is not "crippleware."
  81. It is full featured and functionally identical to the registered
  82. version except for the reminder notice.

  85. HOW TO REGISTER
  86.  
  87. A copy of the registration form is in the file REGFORM.TXT.  It may
  88. be printed from DOS or by using the "File | Print" function in Windows
  89. Notepad or Windows Write.  The registration form may also be printed
  90. from the game's help facility.  To register, complete the registration
  91. form and mail it with a check for $15 (U.S. funds only) to:

  97. If you cannot print the registration form, simply send a note with
  98. your name, mailing address, and preferred diskette size, 3.5" (720 K)
  99. or 5.25" (1.2M), with your $15.

  101. You will receive a registered copy of the latest version of the program
  102. with the reminder notice turned off.  Delivery is by U.S. mail.  You
  103. will also be eligible for and notified of free updates, possibly
  104. subject to a small shipping and handling cost.

  109. Video Poker for Windows is a copyrighted program.  You may not change
  110. nor modify the executable file nor any of the documentation files in
  111. any way.   You may not disassemble nor reverse-engineer the program.  
  112. You may freely distribute this program as long as all files are
  113. included and no money is charged.  A small copying fee not
  114. exceeding $10 US may be charged.
