  2.                            IMPORTANT NOTICE
  3.                        ************************
  4.              Before running FastBreak for the first time, make sure that 
  5.         you are familiar with the contents of this file.
  6.  
  7.              FastBreak  requires the following  minumum  requirements:
  8.              
  9.              720 KB OF FREE DISK SPACE. This can be free space on
  10.         a  hard disk, two 360 kb 5.25 inch disk  drives,  1 
  11.         3.5 inch disk drive, or one 1.2 meg or one 1.44 meg 
  12.         disk drive.
  13.  
  14.              A COLOR MONITOR. This can be CGA, EGA or VGA.
  15.  
  16.              YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS IN THE CONFIG.SYS
  17.         FILE ON YOUR BOOT DISK OR THE ROOT DIRECTORY OF YOUR HARD DISK:
  18.                       FILES = 10
  19.                       BUFFERS = 25
  20.              These are minumum requirements. If the number of Files and 
  21.         Buffers specified in your config.sys exceeds these numbers that's 
  22.         fine. If you don't have enough files it is a simple procedure to 
  23.         add the above statements to your CONFIG.SYS file. Simply load your
  24.         current CONFIG.SYS file (found in the root directory of your
  25.         hard disk or boot-up diskette) into your favorite word
  26.         processor and add the above lines. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THE FILE
  27.         IN THE ASCII FORMAT (there will instructions on saving an
  28.         ASCII file in your word processor). DOS 5 users can use the
  29.         EDIT program that came with DOS 5. EDIT automatically saves
  30.         in the ASCII format.

  32.              We have recently added a graphic opening screen to FastBreak.
  33.         We have tested this screen on VGA, Super VGA, and CGA screens and
  34.         found it to be compatible with all of them. If you get an ERROR 5
  35.         on starting the program it may be that this screen is not compatible
  36.         with your system. If this occurs you may simply remove the title
  37.         screen (type "del title.scn") from your disk/directory to solve the 
  38.         problem.

  40.              FastBreak Fantasy Basketball (hereafter referred to as FastBreak) 
  41.         is copyrighted software - it is not now and never has been in the
  42.         public domain.
  43.              Every release of FastBreak comes in two versions, the ShareWare 
  44.         or Evaluation Version and the Registered Version.
  45.              The ShareWare Version of FastBreak is intended for evaluation 
  46.         purposes. The ShareWare Version is fully enabled so that all areas 
  47.         of the program may be tested. Registered owners get the latest 
  48.         version of the program and a free copy of the program FastBreak 
  49.         General Manager which makes player trades and allows you to sign 
  50.         free agents.

  52.              Before running FastBreak make sure that the following files are 
  53.         in the drive/directory that you will start the program from:
  54.              FB.exe   (FastBreak the program)
  55.              FB.hlp   (the help file)
  56.              FB.doc   (the manual)
  57.              SETUP.EXE (the setup program)
  58.              Talent.NBA (the file containing the NBA teams - needed only for a
  59.                          league based on NBA players)
  60.              Title.scn (the opening graphics screen)
  61.              GM.EXE (registered version only - the General Manager's program)
  62.              
  63.             The ShareWare Version of FastBreak may be copied and distributed 
  64.    to others subject to the following conditions:
  65.             No charge may be made for FastBreak itself. Any fees collected for
  66.       the sale of diskettes containing FastBreak must be clearly stated as
  67.       being for materials and/or handling charges. The cost of the disk
  68.       containing FastBreak may not exceed $15.00.
  69.            All files included on the original distribution disk must be included
  70.       when the program is distributed or "uploaded" to a "bulletin board".

  74.              FB.doc  
  75.              Talent.NBA
  76.              SETUP.EXE
  77.              Title.scn

  79.            McS Custom Software reserves the right to prohibit certain
  80.       individuals or companies form distributing FastBreak. If we chose to
  81.       excercise this right the individuals or companies will be notified by
  82.       certified letter.

  85.    Before installing this or ANY new software, you should back up any
  86.    valuable data on your computer system. FastBreak has been thoroughly
  87.    tested on different systems and is believed to be reliable and
  88.    non-harmful. However, no one can ever be totally sure of the effect
  89.    a program will have on every computer. You as the user are completely
  90.    responsible for determining the fitness or usability of FastBreak
  91.    Fantasy Basketball. Maranatha Custom Software will not be liable for
  92.    damages of any kind, including but not limited to lost sales or profits
  93.    arising from any failure of this package to perform as expected.

  96.    FastBreak's registration price is $35.00. Registered users get the latest
  97.    release of the registered version of FastBreak. In addition you will   
  98.    receive the lastest version of the FastBreak GENERAL MANAGER'S DISK which
  99.    allows you to trade players or sign free agents. You will also be entitled 
  100.    to any upgrades of FastBreak without charge other than disk and postage
  101.    costs. MCS feels a real obligation to provide top flight service to our
  102.    registered users. If you have a need for an enhancement to FastBreak please
  103.    let us know. We are very responsive to our customers and we feel that the
  104.    way to make FastBreak the best program possible is to listen to the wishes
  105.    of our users.
