  6. About Envelope Maker  -------------------------------------------

  8. Envelope Maker is an easy to use,  full feature envelope printing 
  9. application that makes the job of printing envelopes a breeze. It
  10. runs on all IBM and compatible computers in a minimum of  265K of
  11. RAM. It requires an Epson or IBM compatible dot matrix printer.
  12.  
  13. Envelope Maker is a shareware product,  which means that you  can
  14. try it  before you buy it,  and freely copy and share the program
  15. with your friends.    
  16.                                                         
  17. There are three steps to using Envelope Maker:          
  18.   1. Installing the Envelope Maker files.               
  19.   2. Running the Program                                
  20.   3. Reading the User's Guide                           
  21.                                                         
  22. In the directions that follow,  <Enter> means press the  Enter or
  23. Return key.

  25. Installing Envelope Maker  --------------------------------------
  26.                                                         
  27. Envelope Maker  may be installed on any  drive/directory on  your
  28. hard disk or, ran from a floppy disk drive.  The only requirement
  29. is that ENV.EXE, ENV.IDX, ENV.PRO, ENV.DAT and TITLE.DAT files be
  30. on the same drive and directory.     
  31.                                                         
  32. For registered users only, Envelope Maker is distributed with one
  33. of  two versions of the main program file (ENV.EXE).  These files
  34. have been  optimized for two classes of CPUs.   The first type is
  35. optimized for CPUs 8088 thru 80186,  while the second type is for
  36. 80286 thru 80486 CPUs. If you don't indicate the type of CPU your
  37. computer is running when you register,  or you're not sure of the
  38. type,  you'll receive the file optimized for the  8088 thru 80186
  39. CPUs.  This is the  universal type  that will run on all  IBM and
  40. compatible computers. If you indicate and receive the one for the
  41. 80286 thru 80486 CPUs, do not attempt to run this on an 8088 thru
  42. 80186 CPU.  It will only run only run correctly  if your computer
  43. has an 80286 or higher CPU.

  46. Installing on floppy only system:   With your  DOS system disk in
  47. drive A and a blank diskette in drive B type:

  49.   Format B: /s  <Enter>

  51. After formatting put this disk in drive A. Put the Envelope Maker
  52. distribution disk in drive B and type:

  54.   Copy B:*.* A: <Enter>                                 
  55.                                                         
  56. You're now ready to run Envelope Maker.

  58. Installing  on a  hard disk system:   At the C>  prompt and  with 
  59. Envelope Maker distribution disk in drive A type:  
  60.   Copy A:*.* C:\directory of your choice <Enter>        
  61.   CD \same directory as above <Enter>

  72. and use of the Grab utility.

  75. Running Envelope Maker  -----------------------------------------

  78. Floppy disk system:  With your working diskette in drive A and at
  79.  the A> prompt, type:
  80.                                    ENV <Enter>
  81.  
  82. Hard Disk system: Change to the directory you copied the Envelope
  83.  Maker files to and type:   
  84.                                    ENV <Enter>
  85.  
  86. Select the Setup option from the Main Menu.  Envelope Maker auto-
  87. matically detects the adapter type  and allows  three colors with
  88. any color adapter.  Monochrome adapter computers don't  have this
  89. option.  If your monitor is color,  select the Change Colors menu
  90. option. Follow the screen prompts to set the three colors of your
  91. choice.  Continue setup, selecting your printer type and envelope
  92. size choice, ETC.. Changes made take effect when you exit Setup.

  95. Reading the User's Guide  ---------------------------------------

  98. The user's guide is contained in the file  ENV.DOC.  This file is
  99. an ASCII file which may printed or viewed with your favorite text 
  100. editor/word processor.

  102. You are encouraged to copy the  Envelope Maker  disk and share it
  103. with others.  After trying out Envelope Maker, and decide to con-
  104. tinue to use it,  you are  trusted to register for  $20.00.  Your
  105. support is important and greatly appreciated. With it, this Share
  106. ware product will be continuously developed and updated.
