I added a crontab entry and script last night that should cause the
mailing list archives in ftp.ninemoons.com:pub/ade/lists to be updated
nightly.  The only files that should change on a daily basis are the
archives for the current month.  If anyone notices any problems with
this please let me know ASAP.

The ADE web pages came online today at http://www.ninemoons.com/ADE/ADE.html.
Please visit them and let us know what sorts of things are missing or need
expanding.

The big item in the NEWS page is progress on the X Window (X11R6.1) port.
Hans just got neXtaw (an Xaw replacement) ported, along with the "afterstep"
window manager, and the results are stunning.  There is a screenshot on
the NEWS page using an 8-bit X screen, but that doesn't really do it justice.
I'm running the same window manager on my linux box on a 16-bit screen and it
is *really* nice.  Hans will probably have support for 16-bit screens soon,
perhaps before the end of the year.

As soon as things stabilize a little more, we want to make the latest server,
window manager, and ported applications available for more beta testing.

Hello all users who don't like lha,

I want to announce the release of "unzip-5.12" and "zip-2.0.1" with
full support of automake and autoconf next week.

 Advantages of 'unzip/zip' against 'lha':

- full source available
- runs on several platforms
- has on all platforms the same options
- supports links (soft- and hardlinks).  The default is to archive
links as a real file, but with a simple command-line option you can
force to archive links as links.
- it can read from pipes and stdin
- a lot of servers support 'zipping' on the fly like with 'tar',
'gzip' and 'compress'.

Currently untested is the support for multivolumes on the Amiga, but
I think this should not prevent me from releasing it.  Bug-reports
and hints belonging to the ADE-port of these two packages are
wellcome and can be send to me directly
or to the ADE-list.  This seems to be better because then others can
read the problems and the fixes too.

The machine that majordomo runs on was upgraded to the latest Redhat
linux today, and the latest (1.94.1) version of majordomo was also
installed.  If you have any problems sending or receiving email with
