  29.     This is a checklist to help review writers format their reviews the
  30. way I like them.  You don't have to use it; however, if you do, you will
  31. make my job easier, and I will be VERY, VERY happy!!! :-)

  33.     Print out this checklist.  As you write and proofread your review,
  34. check off the parts you have finished.  When everything is checked, your
  35. review is ready to submit!

  37.     Review writers should also see the "Full Review Template" article,
  38. which is an optional "fill in the blanks" form to help you write your
  39. review.

  42. GENERAL INFORMATION

  44. ( )    I used the comp.sys.amiga.reviews Template form, or I included:

  46.     ( )    Product name.
  47.     ( )    Brief description (1-2 sentences) of the product.
  48.     ( )    Vendor name.
  49.     ( )    Vendor address, INCLUDING the country (even if USA).
  50.     ( )    Vendor telephone number.  [If this is an "800" number, and
  51.         you live in the USA or Canada, please call it yourself and
  52.         ask for a non-toll-free number for use outside of North
  53.         America.]
  54.     ( )    List price.
  55.     ( )    Description of copy protection.
  56.     ( )    Works (or does not work) with accelerated CPU's.

  59. TEXT FORMATTING
  60.  
  61. ( )    Only plain text files (also called ASCII files) are acceptable.  I
  62.     cannot accept reviews in proprietary file formats.

  64. ( )    All lines are less than 80 characters long.

  66. ( )    Use tabs, not spaces, for indenting.  (If possible.)  If your text
  67.     editor or word processor allows you to set tab stops, I recommend
  68.     using a tab size of 8 when formatting your review, since USENET
  69.     news-reading software tends to use this tab size.

  71. ( )    Every paragraph has ONLY the first line indented (one tab).  The
  72.     rest of the paragraph is not indented.  For example:

  74.     This is an example of the way paragraphs are formatted in a
  75. comp.sys.amiga.reviews "standard" review.  The first line begins with a tab,
  76. but all the rest of the lines are not indented.

  78.     (Exceptions:  the sections AUTHOR/COMPANY INFORMATION and
  79.     SPECIAL HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS, where every line is
  80.     indented with 2 tabs.  See the Template.)

  82. ( )    Paragraphs are separated by one blank line.

  84. ( )    Major sections are separated by two blank lines.

  86. ( )    Major section names are in ALL CAPITALS.

  88. ( )    Sentences are separated by TWO spaces, not just one.  (Non-USA
  89.     residents may find this surprising, but it is standard practice
  90.     in the USA, and I think it looks cleaner.)
