  14. BeepAManiac       0.7    Replace the System Beep for WB2 and WB3

  16. First there was DisplayBeep that alerts the user by flash the screen, then
  17. came DisplayBeep with sound extension that alerts the user with a beep or
  18. sampled sound and/or flash the screen.  Now comes BeepAManiac, a small
  19. Commodity that patches the standard Intuition DisplayBeep function.

  21. BeepAManiac lets you play infinite number of sounds.  Each time the
  22. DisplayBeep is called, BeepAManiac plays a random sound.  This is much more
  23. pleasant to listen then the same old standard boring sound.

  25. BeepAManiac is very small and uses very little memory.  You can configure
  26. BeepAManiac to use from 8K to 128K size sampled sounds.  BeepAManiac can
  27. also play two simultaneous sounds at the same time if the DisplayBeep is
  28. call twice in the row.

  37. This is a simple MAN command, known from UNIX systems.
  38. The advantage is, that it recognizes .guide files to be
  39. AmigaGuide© documents. MAN then uses a different viewer
  40. in order to display the AmigaGuide© document. Furthermore
  41. MAN recognizes TeX-DVI files as well, using a different
  42. viewer to display them. You may configure MAN using
  43. environment variables.
