  1. DiskSpare    3.0    stores  more data on disks faster
  2.  
  3. DiskSpare is a completion or replacement of the trackdisk.device.
  4. It  lets  you  store  more data on your disks faster than usual.
  5. For this a custom mfm format is used. -> No online compression !
  6. The capacities are:

  8. - 984K with DD disks (normally 880K)
  9. - 1968K with HD disks (normally 1760K)
  10.  
  11. Diskspare.device requires Kickstart Version 2.0 or higher.

  13. If you want to test diskspare.device (DSD from now on), simply
  14. click on the 'QuickTest' icon. The script mounts a drive 'DS0:'
  15. on Unit 0 (your DF0: drive) with 984K capacity. To format the
  16. disk, open a shell window and type: 'format drive ds0: name test'
  17. <return>. If you mount any device after 'LoadWB' you need the
  18. shell to format a disk. If you mount DSD during boot, you can
  19. use the Workbench format as for DFX. After formatting, you should
  20. be able to use the disk like any other disks.

  29. MakeVersion is a simple program for creating program version
  30. numbers. I use it to embed version numbers in most of my
  31. publicly-released programs. It creates linkable object files
  32. which can be used by any standard Amiga linker when linking
  33. the program and is particularly suitable for use in Make
  34. files (or Lmk or DMake files).

  41. SuperDuper    3.13    High-speed disk copier and formatter
  42.  
  43. SuperDuper is an exciting, high-speed disk copier and formatter. Typical
  44. timings are 99s for a disk-to-disk verified copy, or 38s for a four disk
  45. non-verified format.  Also available are buffering in RAM, on a hard disk
  46. image file or on any sector-based Amiga device, like RAD:, VDO:, FMS:, etc.
  47. Real-time compression using the Xpk standard allows to copy in one pass most
  48. disks on 1M Amigas, especially in conjunction with a special utility which
  49. "hides" external drives to the system (but not to SuperDuper).  Bells and
  50. whistles include high density floppy support, voice, automatic date
  51. increment, a list of the disks copied, and automatic start of operations
  52. based on disk insertion/ejection sensing.  SuperDuper 3.13 is freeware and
  53. works on any Amiga under 2.0 and beyond.
