  9.      rcsfreeze - freeze a configuration  of  sources  checked  in
  10.      under RCS

  13.      rcsfreeze [_n_a_m_e]

  15. DESCRIPTION
  16.      rcsfreeze assigns a symbolic revision number to a set of RCS
  17.      files that form a valid configuration.
  18.  
  19.      The idea is to run rcsfreeze each  time  a  new  version  is
  20.      checked  in.  A unique symbolic name (C__n_u_m_b_e_r, where _n_u_m_b_e_r
  21.      is increased each time rcsfreeze is run) is then assigned to
  22.      the most recent revision of each RCS file of the main trunk.

  24.      An optional _n_a_m_e argument to rcsfreeze gives a symbolic name
  25.      to  the  configuration.  The unique identifier is still gen-
  26.      erated and is listed in the log file but it will not  appear
  27.      as  part  of  the  symbolic  revision name in the actual RCS
  28.      files.

  30.      A log message is requested from the user for  future  refer-
  31.      ence.

  33.      The shell script works only on all RCS files  at  one  time.
  34.      All   changed   files  must  be  checked  in  already.   Run
  35.      _r_c_s_c_l_e_a_n(1) first and see whether any sources remain in  the
  36.      current directory.

  52.      rcsfreeze does not check whether any sources are checked out
  53.      and modified.

  55.      Although both source file  names  and  RCS  file  names  are
  56.      accepted, they are not paired as usual with RCS commands.
