  41. What is Data Master?
  42. --------------------
  43.  
  44.     Data Master is a database program programmed for Amiga computers.
  45. It's not the best database program for Amiga (the best ShareWare/
  46. LicenseWare database program??), but it's cheap and specially made for
  47. an average user.
  48.     In the program there are five different field types which are
  49. string (text), integer, floating point, type (selection) and boolean
  50. field types. In one record it can be up to 256 different fields and
  51. the number of records is practically limited only by the size of the
  52. free memory. Records can be sorted based on eight key fields.
  53.     You can search from the database those records which match the
  54. search patterns given by the user (for example, all the records whose
  55. first field's first letter is A). You can also search for text strings
  56. from the whole database. Using Data Master it's possible to print the
  57. database for printer or save it as an ASCII file to the disk. Number
  58. fields can be displayed on the screen as graphic diagrams, and using
  59. this function you can simply compare records. There is a separate
  60. field editor for the creating of the fields. Records can be, of
  61. course, moved, copied, deleted or cleared as a single record or as
  62. a block which includes many records.

  64. The Copyright

  67.    The Data Master is a shareware program. The rules of the registration
  68. and the copyright are in the following text.
  69.  
  70. 1.   The Data Master program and all the files distributed with it are
  71.    copyrighted, and the owner of these copyrights is the author of the
  72.    program. The author reserves the right to change the code of the 
  73.    program, any file with it, the rules of the registration and the
  74.    copyright, and the registration fee without any public notice. 
  75. 2.   It's allowed to copy and spread this ShareWare program, which is
  76.    NOT a FreeWare program, if the following conditions are met:
  77.      A. No profit is made ( nominal charges for copy media are only
  78.         permitted, maximum charge about DM 7)
  79.      B. All the files which were released with the program are
  80.         following it
  81.      C. All the files stay unchanged
  82.      D. The program is not spread on any kind of cover disks of
  83.         magazines  
  84. 3.   Because this program is ShareWare, you are allowed to use it
  85.    without registration for 30 days to test the program. After these
  86.    30 days you MUST register the program, if you still want to use it.
  87. 4.   You are not permitted to change or modify the Data Master
  88.    program, or any file released with the original program. All the
  89.    files with the original program must follow it.     
  90. 5.   The author warrents the diskette which the author has sent to the
  91.    registered user for 3 months from the date when the program has
  92.    been sent by mail. If there are any defects on the diskette, the
  93.    user has to send it to the author in a one week from the date when
  94.    the defects were found, and then the user gets a new diskette from
  95.    the author.
  96. 6.   The program and the files are provided 'as is' without warranty
  97.    of any kind, excluding the diskette warranty. Use of this program
  98.    is at your own risk and discretion.

  100. The registration
  101. ----------------

  103.     The registered version of the Data Master contains, for example,
  104. a full manual, some example databases and this file. There is also the
  105. Mines game in the registered version.  There are two ways, how you can
  106. order the registered version:
  107. 1. Send DM 25 or GBP (£) 10 in cash by mail with the filled Order Form
  108.    (see the file OrderForm) or with a order where there are
  109.    corresponding information. This way is easy, but not recommended,
  110.    because you can't be absolutely sure how safe it really is.
  111. 2. Pay DM 38 (=25+13) or GBP 15 (=10+5) using the Foreign Payment
  112.    Order. The extra payment is added, because my own bank takes a
  113.    payment from me when I get the money to my account. Send the Order
  114.    Form (see the file OrderForm) and the copy of the Foreign Payment
  115.    Order Form by mail to the author. You have to fill the Foreign
  116.    Payment Order Form in your own bank and also your bank takes a
  117.    payment for doing this. Use the following information, when filling
  118.    the Foreign Payment Order Form.

  147.     Tällä hetkellä rekisteröintimaksu on Suomessa vain 60 (kuusikym-
  148. mentä) Suomen markkaa.
  149.     Maksu voidaan suorittaa Suomessa tilaamalla ohjelma tekijältä 
  150. kirjallisesti lähettämättä rahaa tai pankkisiirtokuittia, jolloin 
  151. toimitus tapahtuu postiennakolla ja rekisteröintimaksuun lisätään
  152. (ainoastaan) postiennakkokulut.
  153.     Jos mahdollista, käytä rekisteröinnissä OrderForm-tiedoston tu-
  154. lostetta tai vastaavat tiedot sisältävää vapaamuotoista tilauspyyn-
  155. töä.
  156.     Rekisteröity versio sisältää mm. manuaalin (joka Suomeen lähete-
  157. tyissä ohjelmissa on täydellisenä sekä englanniksi että suomeksi),
  158. esimerkkitiedostoja sekä tämän tiedoston. Rekisteröityyn versioon
