  122. Atari Scene Archeology? No! = FUJIOLOGY

  125. The quest for old atari scene material became on obsession for a few of us.
  126. Digging the digital crates (1). Digging for the rarest of the rarest games,
  127. demos or other kind of software.
  128.  
  129. Often it does not matter if the game or demo has good sound or graphics.
  130. The rareness raises its value to something special. If we keep it in
  131. perspective, most of this rare stuff is utterly crap. But if many of those
  132. finds are not really mind blowing what is it that keeps us going on?
  133.  
  134. You may all know my previous archives called NO FRAGMENTS. Over the years I
  135. came to the conclusion that CD-ROM archives likes these becoming more and more
  136. obsolete. Not to mention the fact that the concept of NO FRAGMENTS (to deliver
  137. complete collections) was very fragmentary in the end.
  138.  
  139. I came to the conclusion that some bigger archive had to be done. My aim was
  140. and still is to gather every legal release from the Atari-Scene (esp. demos).
  141. I will never ever claim that this collection is complete and I won't say that
  142. it is the best there is but I'm sure at the moment it is the biggest there is.
  143.  
  144. The production of this DVD went hand-in-hand with DEMOZOO (www.demozoo.org).
  145. So nearly every production mentioned in the database has a Demozoo entry with
  146. a direct link to it (also links to pouet and atarimania were added). The entry
  147. might not be complete yet so feel free to support us.
  148.  
  149. I did mainly focus on demos but also added games and tools if they were
  150. done by scene groups or relatives. Sometimes I slight walk off-topic, but I
  151. think those stuff should be preserved too even it's not really demoscene
  152. material. 
  153.  
  154. The archive features 4 sections. The main section features releases for the
  155. Atari ST (11.280 Files). Then there are bonus sections for TT (16 Files), 
  156. MAGS (3.021 Files), JAGUAR (471 Files) and and FALCON (1.247 Files). If you
  157. find any bugs or have missing files (marked yellow in the database) don't
  158. hesitate to contact me.

  160. This is my legacy... my gift to you oldschool lovers and my preservation of the
  161. Atari Demoscene for future generations.

  233. -NO! In this first release definitely not. I doubt your brain can't imagine that
  234.  this project is HUGE and it's already sucking lots of my time and I won't stop
  235.  having a real life just because that you don't find anything to complain about!

  240. -Partially, but I won't call it a rip as I added a huge part of the stuff on
  241.  pouet myself. Also there are 5000 more prods in here than on pouet.

  246. -Nope. They are the same intros but most of them have different scrolltexts
  247.  with different informations from the Atari Scene that we want to preserve!
