  14. This is an attempt of spreading some news and information about what's
  15. going on in the atari scene 1997, and what we're up to in Vectronix,
  16. announcements of our  latest releases and other stuff. There is no weekly
  17. publish dates or anything, when there's something to write about, and we
  18. got time, we will do it... ;-)
  19.  
  20. If you know somebody who want to get this news letter in the future, please

  22. "subscribe". If you want to be removed from the list, simply do the same
  23. but with subject "un-subscribe" instead.

  25. The Vectronix cracking team is proud to present a few new hot releases, in
  26. this awfully hot, disgusting and painkilling summer. We can also introduce
  27. new support boards and a new member.
  28.  
  29. New US/Germany HQ's
  30. ===================

  32. In USA the Happy Hideaway BBS is still alive and kicking, I guess some of
  33. you remember it from the "good old days" if not else. New software, new
  34. look, same sysop (Harry) and now official VEX USHQ, check it out!
  35.  
  36. Ryder, our new member who will work for us as musician and also do some
  37. trading is responsible for the US scene expecially, it's his job to support
  38. Happy Hideaway, and if possible also other boards with new software. The US
  39. scene had almost gone dead as I understand it, but we're doing our best to
  40. bring it back to life again.
  41.  
  42. Other boards worth mentioning in USA is PayBax BBS runned by Norstar, I'm
  43. quite sure our releases will be available on both H.H and PayBax, otherwise
  44. we'll arrange this in some way. Then there's STampede (rings a bell, huh?)
  45. which is still alive, even though it's mostly PC nowadays, there should
  46. still be an old atari conference. Hopefully STampede can also be brought
  47. back to life one day.

  49. In Germany The Junction runned by Slapshot, which also is HQ for TSCC and
  50. Elite among others will be our GHQ. The Junction which really is an amiga
  51. board is one of Germanys most interesting boards of my knowledge. As I'm
  52. writing this I'm not sure how distribution in Germany will work, but one
  53. way or another you'll find our stuff here, that's for sure!

  55. More HQ's and distros are on the way, but we want to make sure we can
  56. support the boards first, watch out...

  58. Faramir/Ex-Elite
  59. ================

  61. As Elite never did a real official statement that Faramir left Elite I want
  62. to make some things clear, as I still see lot's of confusion about this
  63. subject.

  65. Vectronix is NOT dead for Atari! As long as there is still a reason to hang
  66. on to atari, which means, new stuff to crack every now and then, we'll be
  67. around and do our best to provide you with high quality cracks, as always.
  68.  
  69. Faramirs attack upon us was due to his personal problems, obsession by
  70. satan, microsoft and aliens. He couldn't accept that I (Phoenix) was using
  71. a PC today and got all crazy. What started as a private argument some
  72. months earlier was then brought official when he was banned from #atari and
  73. started to release crap under Elite's name against us.
  74.  
  75. Anyway, this thing with Faramir is now history, and we're sorry it ever
  76. happened. Our relations with Elite is, and have always been very good.
  77. We're only sorry that Faramir dragged them into the shit, and got lot's of
  78. people to think we was leaving atari.
  79.  
  80. Worth mentioning is also that Doctor Byte left Elite (because of Faramir),
  81. and that Pervert joined again when Faramir left, he had previously left the
  82. group together with Stratagem because of Faramir. Elite is now in the
  83. leadership of Marcer, and it contains the whole polish cracking elite.

  85. Zarmi/Ex-Supremacy

  88. He must be one of the most hated people on the atari scene, everybody knows
  89. who he is. His relations with Elite have not been the best, which I guess
  90. is one of the reasons he have made himself a name.
  91.  
  92. I'm sorry to say that I hear rumours that he have been busted for selling
  93. CD's, I have not got any confirmations about this, and don't know much
  94. more. No matter what you think of someone, getting busted is nothing you
  95. wish your worst enemy. It's always sad when these things happens, and I'm
  96. very sorry if this is true.

  98. Take care out there people, selling CD's might be an easy way to earn some
  99. fast money, but don't make too big business out of it, you might be sorry
  100. for it one day, and I tell you, it's not worth it!

  102. Nordic Atari Show 97
  103. ====================

  105. Phoenix will attend the Nordic Atari Show (13-15 June) held in Gothenburg,
  106. Sweden on Saturday 14:th of June. Watch out for a weird dude running
  107. around, probably dressed black from top to bottom with black sunglasses.
  108. Make sure all your originals are properly locked up into a safetybox and
  109. keep calm.

  135. The english release of CAB 2.0 doesn't contain some german ST-Guide
  136. documents and Application System Heidelbergs webpages etc, that's why the
  137. filesize is alot smaller compared to the german.

  164. Isn't it weird that something always comes up the next minute after you
  165. have released something? It happens me all the time, some people would
  166. probably explain this by the fact that I always gotta do everything in the
  167. very last minute, and always in a hurry, but I don't know... ;-)

  169. Today I had missed to read some new messages on my board, where I was
  170. delighted to find an announcement.

  172. Hang Loose is back, we've heard it before, a couple of times that Bandit
  173. was planning on re-open his board. We almost stopped believing it, but
  174. after much talk and little action, he have finally done just that.
  175.  
  176. I talked to Bandit some weeks ago, then he was hoping to get cable-modem
  177. access in the area he lives real soon, if this was more than a sysops most
  178. wished dream to become reality is yet to see. But let's hope for the best!

  181. only a small update of ExtenDOS Pro, but it's our job to bring everything
  182. of quality to the public! ;-)
