WHOOPS-A-DAISY
******************
As most of you will have noticed,I always begin the intro sequence of the
mag with the Kelstar logo with the date and a little blurb at the bottom.
I do this because I have had quite a few mags myself over the time I`ve
been reading them that I had trouble finding the date on.This got on my
wick a bit because you never really knew whether the mags were current or
what.
What I have been doing is inserting a blurb of this nature on that page.
" All of the original articles are the property of Kelstar and you should
not re-use them without permission ".Remember that bit ? Well,it has been
pointed out to me,( thank you Martin ),that this means that I am claiming
the work of everyone who writes for the mag.Being a bit of a twat,I hadn`t
realised the implication of the phrase. What I had meant really that the
original articles that I wrote myself.
¯¯¯¯¯¯
Before I began to do Kelstar proper,I did a sort of demo version which I
circulated among some of my contacts just to see what they thought of it.
In this mag were articles that I had written and was going to re-use in
the " real " version when I did it.What happened was that someone sent
these articles to another magazine which used them in one of their own
issues, therefore I couldn`t really put them in my own mag when I started
it.Hence I had to write a shit-load of new stuff and my first issue was
much later than I hoped it would be.When I eventually got my first issue
out,I put in that blurb to hopefully stop the same thing happening again.
Of course what it comes out like is that I`m claiming everyones work as my
property and I can assure everyone that I am not.
I am immensely grateful to anyone and everyone who contributes to Kelstar
and I would like to apologise to you all for the way that blurb reads.I
have never intended to claim the rights to anyone elses stuff,it was
purely a stupid piece of wording on my part.Everyone who writes for me
retains the rights of their work and I wouldn`t want it any other way.
I changed the wording in later issues of Kelstar 3 and will continue with
the current ammended blurb. My sincerest apologies once again for the way
that the blurb reads.
Of course all of you nosey lot that don`t bother reading the intro pages
will now have to re-boot to see what I was talking about.Serves you right
for not reading it in the first place.
