  22. Traditionaly,  as in every  year, our mate Vasco/Tristesse  (8-bit Atari scene)
  23. invited our atari community to the party called "Lato Ludzikow"  (english loose
  24. translation:  erm....  "Summer of the small people" )  -  woah!  Now after this 
  25. translation  I  just wonder  if I  should begin  this text with words like "Our 
  26. mate".  So what,  Vasco?  Atarians are SMALL PEOPLE, DAMMIT?  ;o)) Look at Your 
  27. dick, man! Bah, I've a feelin' that I've fucked up this translation pretty well
  28. already! And that's just the beginning... yikes! (grey's note)

  30. Driving to  that party  I was  scared it  would be another flop in the style of 
  31. "Last Party '00" (also orgaznied by a  "small people"  Vasco), where only a few
  32. people attended. Hopefuly I shouldn't be that afraid....  but I'll mention more 
  33. of this later..

  35. Journey to the party-place by train was spent chating with Lewis/Aids.  It took
  36. few hours to reach the right place, however I felt  it was much faster than the 
  37. last time, even if the train was REALLY delayed already. The funniest thing was
  38. the train personnel who let us to know it's forbidden to smoke onboard after we
  39. had smoked almost a whole pack of cigarretes ;o))  
  40.  
  41. We reached the place at 7:00pm  and with this miracle we  unpacked our hardware
  42. there. Unfortunately, carrying the monitors  and computers after almost 9 hours
  43. of journey I wouldn't call the most pleasent thing ;o))

  45. Ok,  we are at the  "Taklamakan"  place and  we've just noticed that everyone's
  46. sleeping there It appears it was because of yesterday when people had something
  47. like a "camp fire" near the party-place.  Mr. Organizer didn't foresee that not 
  48. everyone would be able to come on Friday... Byebye roast of the weenies.

  50. Aparrently  atarians  don't sleep  too long, so a short time later we could say  
  51. "hello!"  to  everyone  at Lato  LudzikoW 2001.  The rest of the time was spent
  52. watching old productions and writing the  "real-time txt" on my Atari Portfolio
  53. which seems to be a "dreamed of" machine for such things :) But guess what, you
  54. won't read this text 'coz the Portfolio ate the last remnants of the battery (I
  55. forgot to put new ones) and the machine slept. Not to mention that also the RAM
  56. card wasn't there that could have recorded data... Anyway some of the text went 
  57. to dust...

  61. The biggest "highlight" of the party was a "bus" built of various things at the
  62. party-place, just  like microphone platform, truck, two benches and few chairs. 
  63. You could make a furious journey at the  party-place which almost everytime had 
  64. it's end on the wall. You can imagine what did Mr. Organizer noticing that ;o))
  65. Simply forbidded using the furniture to journeys on the parquet :/

  69. Then at 10:00 oclock in the evening the Competitions started! As expected there
  70. wasn't that many  releases, however since the Last Party '99 it was the biggest 
  71. amount anyway.  The thing which  really impressed me was the fx coded by Laoo / 
  72. Sayans - really high quality stuff and 256b intros. Also the long awaited "Ergo 
  73. Bibamus" demo by  Quasimodos which was "in production" for the last 5 years! It
  74. featured  excellent effects and their "Vector City"  got a round of applause in 
  75. the hall.

  77. So,  ending this report: Lato Ludzikow was one of the best parties organized by 
  78. Vasco.  If  I  counted  well  it  was  attended by over 30 people (plus XI from
  79. Satantronic/SLOVAKIA and Mr. Bacardi/GERMANY). The only reason to cry about was
  80. this  low amount of releases. But  who knows?  Maybe the forthcoming Last Party 
  81. 2001 in Winter will change this?
