<head> <title="...forever..."> <font=monaco10.fnt> <image=back.raw w=256 h=256 t=-1> <buf=12160> <bgcolor=-1> <background=0> <link_color=253> <module=console.mod> <pal=back.pal> colors: 251 - black </head> <body> <frame x=0 y=0 w=640 h=1400 b=-1 c=-1> <f0><c253> _______ __) ____/ __/\__ _\ __|____/ \___. \_ \ \______/ |_______ /___\______|____|____|______/ rIV! .----------------------------. | <link=g15.scr>Error In Line</l> 2001 | | Dresden, Germany | | | | Every time of midnight | | Every time we muddle again | | Hold on lovely memories | | Every sound you bring out | | Every time we suffer again | | Holding lovely memories.. | | | |____ grey / mystic bytes____| <MrPink> i've been asked by grey to kick off the realtime article. i'm tired, exhausted, bleary eyed and thankful to finally be here! i stayed up all night last night working on our new ST game, then at 9am i embarked on the epic journey to EIL2. it started badly. i got on a train to london, then a tube to liverpool street where i was due to meet sh3 and msg. they were going to call me on my mobile phone so we could meet up. at this point i realised i didn't have my mobile, yet i was sure i had packed it. panic hit me - had it been nicked? had it fallen out of my pocket on the train? how was i going to hook up the other members of rg (who had my plane tickets). it was all going horribly, horribly wrong. after wondering aimlessly around liverpool street for some time, i decided to use my sherlock holmes like powers to try and track down the other members of rg who were no doubt frantically trying to call me on my missing mobile. where would be the first place that these kids would head for in the station? seeming as (unlike germany) there are no sex shops here, the only place they could be hiding was in a fast food outlet. i know their modus operandi. lo and behold a quick peek inside burger king revealed the dynamic duo of sh3 and msg arguing furiously (and probably insulting my incompetence). for comedy effect, i went into stealth mode and hid behind a pillar, observing their actions. even my comedy 'peekaboo' popping out from behind the pillar went unnoticed by the frantic pair. eventually i was rumbled by sh3 and all was good. we then stumbled around aimlessly trying to find the bustop. we got to the plane 2 hours before the departure time (on the insistence of msg) only to find that we couldn't check in for another 40 minutes. then the plane was delayed. when we got to berlin we had missed our train and the next one wasn't for two hours. it did give us a chance to briefly hook up with ripley and friend who were out here, and we enjoyed a fake pizza. unfortunately there was no time to visit the zoo with the three storey high camel. and it hailed as we hurried to the station for our train to dresden. we then got off at the wrong station at dresden, and after some more frantic calls to joe cool and 505 we were directed to dresden hapbanhof, a big ball, whistling time and joe cool's taxi service. and so here we are then. the party is about to start. and i'm off to get a beer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ok, we are so fuckin' happy to be here! Saulot and me planned to arrive at the party place together with Sqward however he didn't show up at the train station in Wroclaw! we were waiting till the last minute to see his cute body somewhere in the gathering crowd... s*it! wassup with him? 'coz of that we lost the sitting places in the train and we had to stay through a half of way... "NICE"! Saulot and me tried to fix our moods suckin' the bottles of TYSKIE. but it wasn't all. someone drunken person stood in the corridor with something what looked like a screw-driver. he was holding that in hand and i am pretty SURE he was using it to "borrow" some money from radomly picked persons in the corridor. puh. when we finally arrived to the Dresden we directed our bodies to the nearest newsagent to buy the ST Computer magazine (as I always did in the past...). It was the 1st step we planned to release. And another "nice" surprise - we didn't find it. yeah. what's next? hopefuly we found so easily the right way to the party place and we've met 505 and some other ppl who welcomed us loudly, and after hand-shakes we've decided to take a look at the party rooms. 505 asked if we would like to drink anything and he proposed to buy us a beer. yeah! hospitality on the highest level :o)) we were sitting in one of the rooms with Joe Cool, 505, Spion and Norman's girlfriend Christin and spent a nice time talking about many things including children's adoption by gays :o)) ...and guess wot. this lovely butt-licker Sqward with body of Sharon Stone showed up! dunno how, dunno when, but who cared about that! our holes got wet again and Saulot wasn't going to sleep anymore washing his "hardware" on the "night session". and seriously: i am DAMN happy that Sqward managed to come over here! thanx dude, i know how stressy it is to drive alone that long way... you are hero :)) ok, i have to make a short jerk-break 'coz breathing in this room is simply impossilble - Sqward is eating something like a chicken mixed up whith horse shit and i felt pretty... shitty? :o)) Farting Asteroid and Sqward's food... enough? ;) grey and saulot signed off... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ok! hellow scene.... Had a long journey from London city airport changing at Zurich in Switzerland, got asked by customers to explain the strange electronic box in my bag, which was a spare Falcon power supply, they thought it was something illegal!! Wished I learnt more German, as I found it hard to communicate with anyone when trying to get a bus or train to the party venue. The RG's new game looks very cool, and they are doing some tweaks as I write now.. Still no sign of CIH or Felice, they sent me an SMS message saying they were coming a day later but they are not here yet. Good to see lots of people from previous parties, this should be cool!! signing off Asteroid. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So the party seems to start soon.. first people are here, and much more to come. Reservoir Gods have reinstalled their good old Grotto and UCM seems to be some kind of back with a realtime article. The partyplace seems to be quite c00l place. Its maybe too cold sometimes, but it doesn't matter. I don't care. The people are gathering slowly. I think that everyone will be at their places tonight. Grey digged out from the endless bottom of his bag an asortiment of polish vodka industry. Tonight no one will feel cold anymore :))))))))))))). It's a cool feeling to have a stomach filled to the edges. I think we should start to drink for the "polish-the rest of world" friendship! Wanna join us? The Paranoid ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Getting to this realtime involves some real physical danger. Grey has made himself a nest in this corner of the party, and surrounded himself with trails of dangerously dangling power cables! So you have to be a little bit able to climb over these to get to it. First impressions of the party are confused. A horde of faces with the word "hi" coming from them, a whirlwind tour of the building site that Dresden has become to get some food, now this request to contribute to the agile contributors realtime for Chosneck. With this and the Undercover/Alive! rta, I've quietly shelved any realtime of my own. Still, gives me more time to add to the other two.. Journey over was pleasantly straightforward, apart from the flat tyre mishap at the beginning. The weather is a bit hair-shirt abysmal though. Still, we're here now, and that is what is important.. As I'm a sort of dirty bastard I decided to stay and write something. Well I was astonished by amounts of food which Swedes ate. Oh man I am quite impressed. When I grow up I will be certainly like them. ;-) Everything seems to be ok. The place and people are simply fucking k00l. I will certainly not regret visiting this place :-). Now I'm preparing my mind for some really heavy drinking session (I'm writing this to keep up the opinion that polish people are alcoholics ;-)). Yes, I think that everything will be alright.... Who am I? I'm owning an Ste since 91 and a falcon since 97, and i always followed the demo-scene but without to join it. So the EIL2 is my first visit to the demo-world and unfornutately i met the guys from Mystic bytes (from Poland) and now i realize that this parties are only drink- parties.... yes in france we have the expression "drunk as a polish", and now i understand what is the reason why. Two cool guys of Mystics bytes are still alive, the third," sqward",is almost dead and perhaps is at this time rejecting bad Ideas from this evening into the toilets....But the polish peoples are a little deception for me. Hey , two glasses of wine and it' s already the End??? I had the image, before this party, from guys who was sleeping on the floor, totally drunk, but it's not the case. The best "warrior drinker" seems to me to be "Grey". Why do I have a such Picture from Poland? Hey, because my two Neighbours in Leipzig are two Girls from Poland. (hey, it' s two o'clock, and Grey is looking me with the eyes of crazyness....by the way the spectacle of a polish demo-maker who's searching some bred to forget the taste of the Alcool is unforgetable; see you tommorow Grey!!!). Okay, about this two girls: Do you feel to be a man? So forget now your stupid prtentions and listen to: This two girls are able to Drink on 18 o' clock: 3 litres Beer, And one liter PURE wodka together; and then it' s 20 o'clock, so it' s time to go to disco and to drink all the night, until 8 o'clock... And they stay all the night "normal". In comparaison, after one glass Wodka and three glasses of wine " our " Grey is...Hum hum... Okay he wants to do some photographies, so Law number one: when someone seems to be dangerous (as Grey for example..) don't make him angry. If he wants something, give it to him!!! Just hung out with the rest of Maggie and the Polish guys, exploring Dresden, looking at nice old buildings and scenery whilst getting covered in snow, still see the old guy on the bridge playing his accordian, hes there all day everyday!! Just watched H demo IV by the Fun crew, its good to shake the walls to some hardcore Dutch industrial Techno again. :o) As someone may have already mentioned, Grey's desk is surrounded by cables, bags and assorted beverages ranging from local Polish fruit juice to something highly toxic (Polish Vodka) <g> its kinda dangerous getting in and out from this desk, even before you touch any of this stuff!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well we've seen Dresden, it's many faces (concrete and snow), and we've lived to tell the tale! Now slowly thawing out again. You might well gather from some of the preceding entries that a considerable quantity of alcohol was consumed last night. Some people were somewhat the worse for it. I remember ST Survivor almost kept his balance on the way out, and our host Grey, is not quite as well as he'd like to be!? Myself? Well I managed to sleep on the floor, in the absence of sleeping equipment, at least until the novelty wore off, which it did at about 7.30am. How do you tell you are too drunk? Well when your lips go numb, it is usually a good idea to stop then! But anyway, I arrived here today around 7 in the morning. Again packed in a car with stuff I've never seen before or use cause it's isn't mine... Yes, I couldn't breath in the back seat of the car because of the junk of others. But hey, no problem, I'm here and having a very good time! The first pizza is history and the spirite is high. The atmoshpere is as always, ATARI kicks ass and the rest isn't:) I can't remember me going to a party with so much stuff! In error in line #1 there was a lot but strange and unbelievable as it may sound... this time there was even more!! Unforunatly EARX couldn't come to the party cause of his girlfriend and correct met when I'm wrong but why is it that whenever a girl comes in, the toy's die?! He'll have to enjoy this time in a different way...sure he doesn't have any problems with that I believe:) Now I'm here with the rest of the FUN crew... me, Havoc, D-Force and NUT. Bbackl8er.. time: Saturday, 9:06 place: MSB cave from: Grey / MSB ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CiH's trusty STE decided to turn itself off whilst one of the gods was using it, so I borrow the Dutch guys soldering iron, and give the circuit board a poke with it, and it works great now. :o) Almost everyone has hardware problems with their computers though, I suppose its the consequence of our beloved machines are not getting any younger, and stuffing them into the boots of cars and taking them around different parts of europe puts a strain on them, oh well :) Asteroid -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With reference to the last point made by Asteroid above, I think there is an extra-special "Dresden-effect", where the exceptionally bouncy cobbled roads shake the cars up so much, that the cars need new suspensions, and the computers carried inside them need their chips re-socketing! I was with ST Survivor a bit earlier on. It was taking two experienced diskmag editors to review 'On the Edge of the Abyss', as it is such a huge production. Well, I was working the demo, and ST Survivor was writing the review.... CiH ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hmm, it seems that even recording all stuff on VHS doesn't has to go smooth. Something went wrong with the video and everything started from the beginning. That's life. Gfx and Msx compos were held.. Was it any good? It depends what stuff You like. Chosneck team didn't have any quarels about the level of each entry. What I would like to say that I not quite impressed by the quality of some entries, but it is maybe the reason that the most of them were made in the last minute. I'm in some way dissappointed. Don't get me wrong, but you know, I'm a kind of polish malcontent who is only complaining you can't do nothing about it, sorry.... ;-) That doesn't mean that there wasn't any good entries, they were indeed. But I am always looking that will throw me on my knees. Well, I have had no luck today... Maybe tomorrow? I'm so fucking tired that I must go to bed... I just want to say that I really enjoyed the musicdisk by Mystic Bytes. It had an outstanding design, not the usual colorful stuff. And I esp. liked the idea of making a little diskmagazine: maybe it will fill the gap that UCM, Maggie and Alive left behind (don't know if there will be new issues of those mags). So all best wishes to MSB! May they "do things" forever! Besides I must to admit that I am a bit disappointed that Defjam didn't show up at the party. That's really sucky because he lives 10 minutes away from the partyplace. I wonder what happened; days before the EIL he promised to attend and he even said he'll release the demo. It's past midnight and I'm waiting for the demo competition and getting more and more tired...But Grey asked to write some stuff for their falcon diskmag so that would probably wake me up a bit :) It's too bad I don't have Falcon because I won't be able to see that diskmag...Anyway I had the opportunity to watch some of the most famous Falcon demos this week-end and some of them are really great, like for instance Lost Blub from Lazer and the demos from Eko System. I also had the chance to have a look on the Falcon Demos that DHS and TOYS are going to release for the party and they look gorgeous ! It seems that the pression is growing with each minute. The demo compo is near. :-))))). The worst thing is waiting. I think that I will die here 'coz I will be so old ;-)... The whip-pong compo was really exciting. I liked it very much. I was really exhausted after laughing all the time. Top stuff!!!!! 666 Arch Daemon Lord Saulot, the Master of Disaster 666 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the ex-member of Shadows, the most famous 8-bit Atari crew respected for outstanding prods for this computer - I have to comment 8-bit entries shown here. That was... AWFUL in VERY delicate words. Have You ever seen the 8-bit Atari demos made between 1993-2001 year? Those demos are absolutely ass-kickers and I am not scared to add here that most of them beats many ST productions as well. But the entries I've seen here were extremely HUGE _SHAME_ for this scene and I can't imagine faces of ANY 8-bit scener seeing such a part of fuckin' shitty SHIT! Okay, there was one screen supposed to be fake - good, even if that wasn't too funny in my eyes. But the 2nd one? What da hell it was?! The screen without any graphics, just some fuckin' words with the ugliest SYSTEM (!!) fonts telling "this demo plays only music". That's right! Only one boring music... Mc Laser wondered why it wasn't given to the Pokey compo then. Hmm, Stefan probably didn't know that this lametro featured STOLEN music from the Chaos Music Composer folder - doh! So what kind of presentation it was?!? I am able to make 100.000 such "intros" per hour but I wouldn't be that BRAVE to give such a shit to organizers and show it to that large public! Sorry to all who don't like the way I show my impressions but I simply COULDN'T hide my emotions which accompanied me during watching this "PAPIER-KORBEN"... Bitte einen Arzt holen... grey / msb pissed off.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0.2.45 hrs - Escape shouldn't wait so long for the next time; Grey is expecting me to write on this froggy disaster of a keyboard; Corrections and stuff to follow later; Okayyy; first impressions of the party - well the new generation of Falcon demos are here! No more half-finished productions, no more empty promises;; We can hold our head up proudly to the other scenes for the first time in a long while! If there is natural justice, Escapes record breaker will surely win, even fending off the awesome challenge of DHS and friends; and a not inconsiderable effort from TOYS; It is the Sono' for the 21st Atari century!!
