  19. 1. INTRODUCTION

  23. "ERROR IN LINE '99" is a demoscene-related convention (or party), which will
  24. continue the traditional line of Easter conventions. The convention will 
  25. mainly focus on alternative computersystems, as Acorn, Atari, Amiga and C64. 
  26.  
  27. Our general aim is to offer a good surrounding for a meeting of demo-
  28. sceners and  computerfreaks. So, you can expect some days of interesting 
  29. conversations and creativity. But do not forget, we can just offer a good 
  30. surrounding. 
  31.  
  32. However, we hope to make this convention a remarkable and funny event and
  33. we will try to keep it as noncommercial as possible.

  44. The convention will start on:    Friday, 2.April 1999, 03:00 PM.
  45. And the official ending is:      Monday, 5.April 1999, 11:00 AM.

  50. 3. THE PLACE

  54. We have chosen a very atmospheric and comfortable location, which is situa-
  55. ted in the centre of Dresden.
  56. For instance it takes 5 minutes to walk to the central railway station or 
  57. 15 minutes to walk to the historical core of our town, which is really worth
  58. a visit, by the way.

  62. HOW TO GET TO THE PARTY PLACE?
  63. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
  64.  
  65. If you want to come by CAR, there are TWO POSSIBILITIES how to get to the
  66. party place: 
  67.  
  68.  
  69. I.
  70.  
  71. If you take the A4 from "EISENACH", then leave the motorway at the EXIT 
  72. "DRESDEN-ALTSTADT." Then always follow the traffic signs which lead to "PRAG".
  73.  
  74. After a while, you will reach a street, called "NUERNBERGER EI." This street
  75. is easily recognizable, because it is a big street (4 tracks), which is 
  76. divided by a big "GREEN ISLE".
  77. Go straight there, till you reach the first TRAFFIC LIGHT AFTER the "NUERN-
  78. BERGER EI". Then turn LEFT here (direction: Hauptbahnhof (central station).
  79.  
  80. Drive down the hill and you will see a RUSSIAN CHURCH on the right side. 
  81. Turn LEFT, after you passed this Russian Church. Now you are driving on the
  82. "Reichenbachstrasse".
  83.  
  84. Finally turn RIGHT into the next street and look for a parking place.
  85. Then follow the SIGNS to get to the location.

  88. II.
  89.  
  90. The second possibility, if you come by car, is to take the A4 from BAUTZEN.
  91. Leave the motorway at the EXIT "DRESDEN-HELLERAU". Then turn RIGHT and always
  92. go STRAIGHT till you reach the BAHNHOF NEUSTADT (railwaystation "Neustadt").
  93. Drive through under the railway and turn RIGHT.
  94.  
  95. Then go STRAIGHT again. You will drive over a big BRIDGE and after some 
  96. minutes of driving, you will reach the HAUPTBAHNHOF (central station). Turn
  97. RIGHT here and drive through under the station. 
  98.  
  99. Then you will see a "CONRAD ELECTRONICS" - building on the right side. 
  100. After this building, turn RIGHT into the next small street. Turn LEFT again, when you
  101. reach the next crossroad.
  102. Go straight then, and after ca. 200 meters, look for a parking place.
  103. Then follow the signs to get to the parking place.

  107. If you come by TRAIN, you will find the party place very easily. Either ask
  108. people for way or just use the following description:
  109.  
  110. Leave the railway station through the MAINDOORS. Then turn right. Go 
  111. straight forward and you will walk under a bridge. Then you will cross a 
  112. street and you will stand in front of the "CONRAD" - building.
  113. Now just walk along the building on its left side and you will automatically
  114. come on a sidewalk, situated beside a bigger street.
  115. Now just go straight. If you see a meadow on the right side after some 50 m
  116. walk, you will be on the right way. Keep on going straight and you will 
  117. see two yellow phonebooths on the light right side. In face of those 2 phone-
  118. booths you will be able to see the party place's entrance doors, beside a 
  119. sign "GAG 18". 
  120.  
  121. We will put up SIGNS, so you will find the way easier.

  125. And if you want to come by PLANE, you should inform us as early as possible,
  126. so that we can take you from the airport Dresden-Klotzsche to the party 
  127. place by car.

  167. As mentioned before, we will try our best to offer you good conditions and
  168. a good atmosphere for a great event.
  169.  
  170. We hope for many interested and motivated visitors, who are finally the most
  171. important part of a successful and exciting convention.

  173. From our side, we can offer you:

  176. -place for ca. 150 people 
  177. -the excellent ambience of the location
  178. -the big screen, which will display demos all the time
  179. -many competitions and prizes

  182. -a divided smoker and nonsmoker area
  183. -a realtime article
  184. -a sleeping room
  185. -WCs and showers
  186. -the possibility to play Dart
  187. -the possibility to play Volleyball

  192. -the opportunity to come even earlier and  have a look at Dresden for some 
  193.  days. But therefore you have to tell us early, because this space is very
  194.  limited.

  196. The entrance fee for all 4 days will be 30 DM.
  197. The entrance fee for only 1 day will be 15 DM.

  200. Since the avaiable space is limited, we can not gurantee place for every-
  201. body. So please register your coming.

  219. During the four days of partying, there will be many competitions held. 
  220. We offer several configurations and possibilities, on which the entries can
  221. be presented.

  224. Available configurations are:

  226. -Atari STf
  227.  8 Mhz, TOS 1.4, 1 MB RAM
  228.  
  229. -Atari Falcon 030   
  230.  16 Mhz, FPU, 4 MB RAM 
  231.  
  232. -Atari Falcon 030
  233.  16 Mhz, FPU, 14 MB RAM
  234.

  236. You can choose any of the listed configuratons, which will be used to pre-
  237. sent your work at the competition.

  239. Further we can record the entry on every configuration you have - you just
  240. have to lend us your computer for the recording.

  243. 5.1. THE COMPETITION RULES:

  245.  
  246. -FALCON 030 DEMO COMPETITION
  247.  The maximal size is 6 Megabytes.
  248.  
  249. -ATARI ST DEMO COMPETITION
  250.  The maximal size is 2 DD disks.
  251.  
  252. -INTRO COMPETITION
  253.  The maximal size is 98304 bytes. All systems are allowed.
  254.  
  255. -4 KILOBYTE INTRO COMPETITION
  256.  The max. size is 4096 bytes. This competition is for every available system.
  257.  
  258. -128 BYTE INTRO COMPETITION
  259.  The max. filesize is 160 bytes including the header. This compo is for all
  260.  available systems.
  261.  
  262. -TRUECOLOR GRAPHICS COMPETITION
  263.  The name of the software and hardware, that had been used to create the 
  264.  pictures will be displayed. The entries have to be in standart format, as 
  265.  TGA or JPEG.
  266.  
  267. -16 COLORS GRAPHICS COMPETITION
  268.  The same as for the Truecolorcompo, but the pictures have to be painted 
  269.  using less than 17 colors and have to be either in GIF- or PC1-format. 
  270.  
  271. -MULTICHANNEL MUSIC COMPETITION
  272.  We will play the modules with Graoumftracker on Falcon 030. This tracker 
  273.  supports the following formats:  DTM, GTK, GT2, MOD, S3M and XM.
  274.  As always, we will play your entry with every other software or hardware
  275.  as long as you can offer it.
  276.  The max. filesize is 1,4 MB and every entry will be presented for 2:00 
  277.  minutes. We may display the tracker on the big screen, while playing.
  278.  
  279. -4 CHANNEL MUSIC COMPETITION
  280.  The same rules as for the Multichannel competition, but the songs have to 
  281.  be in 4 Channel Protracker-MOD format. 
  282.  
  283. -SOUNDCHIP MUSIC COMPETITION
  284.  You have to offer the needed hard- and software to replay the song. Using
  285.  samples is forbidden here.
  286.  
  287. -FAKE DEMO COMPETITION
  288.  The entries have to run on one of the available systems.
  289.  
  290. -WILD COMPETITION
  291.  Wild things wanted! Present videos, photos, animations, programs that do not
  292.  fit in any other category, do aerobic, play flute, whatever...
  293.  
  294. -SURPRISE COMPETITION
  295.

  297. 5.2. GENERAL COMPETITION RULES:

  301. -Every entry has to be done by yourself.
  302.  
  303. -All entries have to be delievered on DD or HD-formatted disks.
  304.  
  305. -If there are too many entries, we may preselect. If you wish we can use a
  306.  jury consisting of party visitors for that.
  307.  
  308. -If you prefer, we will run the entries on your own hardware.
  309.  
  310. -We will try to let you sit next to us, when we record the entries. So the
  311.  competitor has the chance to choose the best way for his entries and can
  312.  make sure, that it runs perfectly at the competition.
  313.  
  314. -You are allowed to make use of every hardware specification or accerlator
  315.  you want. You just have to offer the possibility to lend us your hardware
  316.  for the recording.
  317.  
  318. -At the competition, we will display on which machine the entry has been 
  319.  created and on which machine it is presented. We may also mention which 
  320.  programs have been used for the creation of the entry.
  321.  
  322. -The entries have to compete.
  323.  
  324. -If there is high enough request for other competitions, as for the ACORN,
  325.  ATARI XE or C64, we may add them. 
  326.  
  327. -We will publish all entries after the party and have your agreement for 
  328.  that.
  329.  
  330. -Everybody, who has paid the entrance fee can win prizes for his entries.
  331.  
  332. -Any entries with racial-hostile, nationalistic or pornographic contents are    
  333.  forbidden.

  335. -We may change the competition rules.

  340. 6. GENERAL RULES:

  344. 1. Drinking is allowed as far nobody and nothing else suffers under that.
  345.  
  346. 2. Smoking is allowed in the smoker areas ONLY.
  347.  
  348. 3. Follow the organizers requests. 
  349.  
  350. 4. Every visitor is responsible for his equiqment.
  351.  
  352. 5. Microwaves are forbidden.
  353.  
  354. 6. Copying pirate software is not allowed, as well.
  355.  
  356. 7. Keep the toilets and showers clean.
  357.  
  358. 8. All damage has to be paid by the person who caused it.
  359.  
  360. 8. We want this party to become a reasonable one. We do not expect any 
  361.    damages, theft, fights, pukers etc. If we catch someone responsible for
  362.    something like that, we will hand him/her over to the police and let him
  363.    pay (or clean).
  364.
