  9. Show IFF structure & chunk contents
  10. .description
  11. IFF Master is a program that allows you to have a view inside the structure
  12. of IFF files.  It is not yet another picture viewer or sound sample player,
  13. but it displays the internal entities (chunks) of a file.  For example, the
  14. headers of pictures (ILBM) or sound samples (8SVX) are displayed in clear,
  15. so you can directly read the size and depth of the image or the sampling rate.

  17. Current features (V 1.3) include:
  18.  - MUI application
  19.  - localized GUI (with AmigaOS 2.1 or later)
  20.  - Extensive chunk type library (currently 37 form types, 234 known chunks,
  21.    60 of these with comprehensive structure description)
  22.  - Chunk contents are presented alternatively as structure, text or hexdump
  23.  - Bit fields and enumeration types are displayed in clear
  24.  - Fixed point values are printed in decimal (e.g. 8SVX.VHDR.Volume)
  25.  - Callback hooks for special attributes, e.g. the Mode-ID
  26.    inside the CAMG chunk is de-referenced (e.g. "PAL: Hires").

  28.  - chunk contents and partial FORMs can be saved
  29.  - AppWindow and AppIcon

  33. BUG  prefs window: close gadget now functioning
  34. BUG  Cycle chain (TAB) now works in all windows
  35. NEW  new chunk types: IAND, IANM, DR2D, RGB8, RGBN, SPLT
  36. NEW  hex numbers get a user-chosen indicator, construction of hex dumps is
  37.      now more than 3 times faster
  38. NEW  IFFs can be saved, even nested FORMs, e.g. images inside animations
  39. NEW  Implemented some editing capabilities (delete chunks)
  40. NEW  Preferences can be saved
