  3. TAPE EVALUATION FORM

  5. Record the following tests onto your tapes before use.

  7. 1) Set your monitor up to the Colorbars.
  8.  
  9. 2) HORIZONTAL RESOLUTION
  10.    Record the highest number of lines you can make out.

  14.    Record the highest number of lines you can make out.

  17. 4) LUMINANCE NOISE
  18.    Look across the noise bar from left to right, and record the number
  19.    above the spot where the noise just begins to increase. (Lower 
  20.    numbers = better performance)

  24.    Look across the noise bar from left to right, and record the number
  25.    above the spot where the noise just begins to increase. (Lower

  30.    Count the number of dropouts you see (small white streaks or spots)
