Subject: (ztt) ZTT Propaganda Duel
Hi all,
someone has heard a duel version on a radio station. This version is slightly
different to the original:
# it beginns with guitar
# in the middle (at around 2:50) there is normally this jungle/elephant sample,
but in this version isn`t this sample, there is a guitar solo at this place.
I`ve heard all my versions but it doesn`t appear on my records.
Does anyone know, where to find this mix ???
bye
Karl

Subject: (ztt) Why does it hurt...?
Hello Zangers,
I was listening to some techno music that was playing at the gym, and the=
lyrics
`Why does it hurt when my heart misses the beat=B4 were spoken in the bac=
kground
of one of the songs.=20
This song had nothing to do with Dr. Mabuse (ie no remix), and it contain=
ed no
voice or music samples from the original. The only connection was the ph=
rase
described above.
This gets me to wondering -- since I heard this phrase in another song, c=
ould
it be that its actually a direct reference to a passage in German or
other literature?
How much of Propaganda=B4s _Secret Wish_ is a direct reference to the his=
torical
literature? I know that Mabuse was a character in early German film, but=
not
much more. Anybody out there enlightened about the subject?
Ciao,
Ken

Subject: (ztt) Straight in at #6
According to dotmusic's email charts the new remix of FGTH's "Power Of
Love" came on the UK singles chart at #6!
Talk about a workhorse!
It was too late for the first news update, but Lexicon Magazine's
website www.lexiconmagazine.com, will be having daily '80s news updates.
Look for the Frankie story Tuesday
Thanks

FGTH is Number One with "The Power Of Love" on the UK Top 20 Dance Charts
according to Dotmusic, in addition to their #6 spot on the UK Top 20 Pop
Chart that was mentioned previously on the list.

Subject: (ztt) Shane MacGowan/ZTT
Copied from today's Boston Globe, without permission:
MACGOWAN AT MCGANN's
Shane MacGowan, done with his night's work singing at
the packed Harp Friday night, repaired to the nearby
McGann's where the Celtic-punk rocker held court with
his entourage, which included his cousin, 10-year New
York resident Sean Fay. Fay says MacGowan's new
unreleased music kicks hard and "is pretty republican
as well - not Newt Gingrich Republican." That means:
Pro-Irish, anti-Brit vis-a-vis The Troubles. Fay said
while he and MacGowan shared half a bottle of gin one
night in New York last week "there was not one line of
coke or heroin." (MacGowan has been fairly public and
unrepentant about his prior drug use.) "He's in top
form." Of his lack of new music since 1997, MacGowan
blamed and cursed the record company, ZTT, and said
"We haven't even tried to get a deal in the States."
All that should change later this year. As MacGowan,
who still sports a decaying set of choppers, spoke
with a young Irish woman, she fell to the floor.
"It's my charisma," joked MacGowan.
