Giant Robot is not scheduled for US release at any time in the future.
Sony has apparently decided not to put it out.
My copy came from the HMV Megastore in Tokyo. There may be some copies
available at an outrageous price from Amoeba in Berkeley.
Buckethead is working on a new album with Brain as the drummer. I don't
know for a fact, but would guess, that Bootsy is on bass. Laswell is NOT
producing this one and I am not sure who is. Bootsy produced
Bucketheadland, but usually produces in his own studio (Bootzilla Studio),
and this is not being done there.

I saw Patton as the vocalist with Naked City in NYC about five years ago.
Maybe his live appearances make people suspect that he is on the recorded
stuff.

have you ever listened closely to his screaming? you would know if it was
hime if you ever heard FNM or bungle in concert, or listend to the latest
FNM album. or closely examine the small amount of screaming noise parts
on the mr bungle album........i want it to be him because he is a very
wonderful singer....even if he never sang, he can make just as many, if
not more different, and more varied sounds with is throat than Eye can...
well, maybe....
and was that thing about the melvins saying that the Mike Patton
possibility is only a rumor?
they do thank him on Grand Guignol, and he does sing on Elegy.

Subject: Masada translations
Some nice person sent me some of Zorn's charts for the Masada band.
Whoever you were, please let me know, because I'd like to maybe write an
article for Perspectives of New Music about Masada and would like to try
to get JZ's permission to include a couple of these charts.
Anyway, these charts have translations of the titles. Here's what I've got:
Tirzah-Queen of the Moon
Adithaim-Ornaments
Sahar-The Moan
Nimrah-The Leopard
Ashnah-Darkness
Ai-Bel-Mountain
Tahah-Confused
Hekhal-The Palace
Kanah-A Measuring Rod
Timnah-Octant
Jair-God will Illustrate
Lachish-Flower
Zebdi-The Gift
Lebaoth-The Lions
These may not be totally accurate because JZ's handwriting is not the
clearest, especially after being xeroxed a couple of times.
Also, some of these tunes are not on the 4 albums. Maybe we can hope for a
Masada Hay, Vav, and Zayin.
BTW, the new Nels Cline Trio CD is all that and then some. Nels can sound
like Frisell and Scofield when he wants to, but he's much more agressive
than them. This is what Frisell would sound like if he wasn't so shy &
liked Sonic Youth a lot. Anyone interested in New Music and roick guitar
sould pick this up.
