  180. all 25 basically have a similar sound, except for the first few 
  181. chronologically, which are shorter pieces. the ones I listed are the ones I 
  182. feel are most successful. offhand, I don't know how any of them compare 
  183. directly to EO/MB, sorry. if that's what you're most interested in, find one 
  184. from the same time period, and you'll be all set.

  198. but apparently the raw tapes that Laswell used in making the Army
  199. Arrangement that appeared, I believe, on Celluloid. Little is gained by
  200. these the full-length versions of the the title track and Gov't Chicken Boy
  201. - -- a bit long and wandering. I prefer the Celluloid versions.

  203. 2. "Zombie" is a classic. "Koolitas Lobos/69 LA Sessions" is early,
  204. formulative stuff -- quaint blend of Latin jazz, calypso, highlife, R&B
  205. with Fela on vocals and trumpet -- and his first Afrobeat recordings. I
  206. also like the perky disco backbeat on "2000 Blacks" with Roy Ayers -- I
  207. think the album was called "Music of Many Colours."
  208.  
  209. 3. I haven't heard the MCA "No Agreement." But the version that appears on
  210. Shanachie -- a best of CD called, I believe, "Black Man's Cry," features a
  211. delightful trumpet solo by Lester Bowie. Anybody know of any other Bowie
  212. with Fela?
