The latest Frisell album is out... Featuring Dave Holland and Elvin Jones... Mostly older Frisell compositions... and nice rendition of "twenty years" though....

I think it was more a case of trying something "new" (since his previous
Elektra/Nonesuch outings almost certainly didn't set any sales records),
that took on a life of its own. I'm nearly certain Nashville has been his
best seller by a long shot. Hell, i even got my parents into that record!
If you've ever talked to Bill, it's apparent that he's a very soft-spoken,
perhaps even passive guy. I think Ghost town may have been an attempt to
quit making basically the same record again. We'll just have to wait and
see if he finds some of the old skronk again. let's hope so. sean

Wait a minute:
"the whole Nashville project and its successors
were someone else's idea, he just played it"
Doesn't Frisell realize whose name is on the CD. Does
he have so little clout and/or faith in himself that
he has to record "someone else's idea"?
I find BF progressively more snoozy as he slowly turns
into Chet Atkins. But if he's become a
producer-manipulated Chet Atkins at that is there any
hope for the guy?
